1stgen's scirocco

By far the coolest part about the car in person.

Tom your phone is ringing…

uhh this car is awesome. very impressed.

Ignition module from a 993 is on its way and will be popping off my MSD coil packs on monday. Fried the 1.8t module i had wired due to having the trigger output from the motec on rising, rather than falling. Luckily it was free and something i had laying around. Not like there 500 bucks our anything. :lol

hey tom, how much does the motec go for anyway? i’m gonna start thinking about some standalone for my e36.

LOL $$$$$$

i knew that, just wanted to get a feel for price difference between haltech/ motec, etc… :tong

oh, so you havent heard the FUCKING AWESOME NEWS?!

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=996261

FUCK YEAH FINALLY FULL TUNING OF THE OEM 413!!!

The basic box, like the M4E i’m using- goes for roughly 2,000 or more. Plus you have to buy the wiring harness for the box, with like 24 feet of non-terminated wire, thats like another 5 bills or so. So, yea- big money when all said and done, 2500-3000. Plus sensors if your converting an old style car, like cam/crank etc. Get a universal aem box or an autronic unit, they’re the next best thing, and absolutely stay the fuck away from haltech they suck balls.

yes. i was going to do a plug n play Autronic SM4 from Kevin Black(lugnutstuning) but then i ended up coming back to NY. where i lived in WA didnt even have emissions inspection, let alone, fancy OBD check

my buddy john down in pogipsee is running 034 standalone on his 35r’d mk4 gti… i have yet to talk to him about inspction yet :lol

pogipsee huh? hows poughkeepsie sound? and the 034 is more of a plug n play than autronic sm4 is. the autronic isnt full plug and play, you have to wire it, but its a very simple harness design compared to what Tom is doing on his scirocco… one of the 034 setup literally plugs into the existing harness and uses stock sensors, it just allows you to program it block by block. so when inspection time comes he could just plug his oem ecu back in and pray for the best.

Most of the plug and plays are fully removable in about 20-30 minutes, reset obd readiness code and pass nysi. Then reassemble with the good stuff. :lol I obviously needed full standalone, no crank sensor, crappy fuel injection from the factory etc.,etc, so I changed everything.

CIS is good… when taken off and thrown away

Or…n.a.
Oh yeah…Progress…that shit ran last night. Putting her on the trailer later tnite and hopefully bringing her to Morgan’s(synapse).

i have a CIS-e system in my garage from a 1.8 16v. the fuel lines are like gold to some people, and mine are like new. im waiting for the day when i see someone posting they want to buy CIS lines on vortex. im gonna strike like a cobra.

Update:: Morgan just called me and i have a working fucking racecar. 180 h.p.@2300 r.p.m. 180 ftlbs@ same r.p.m. full boost @ 7 p.s.i. 2300rpm. Picking her up after work…fucking tight

Motec ftw :banana :banana :banana :banana

Woohoo! Congrats, sir!
