Forbes, a respected publication known for its various lists, has released what they feel to be the 20 most dangerous cars of 07/08 on the road. In preparing the list they consider a wide variety of factors, including side impact, stability & rollover risk and its real world safety. With that in mind, here is their list:

#1 Buick Rendezvous
#2 Ford Ranger /Mazda B-Series
#3 Nissan Frontier
#4 Ford Escape / Mercury Mariner
#5 Toyota Yaris
#6 Hyundai Accent
#7 Toyota Matrix / Pontiac Vibe
#8 Kia Rio
#9 Cheverolet Aveo
#10 Suzuki Reno
#11 Ford Focus
#12 Jeep Liberty
#13 Dodge Dakota
#14 Cheverloet Cobalt
#15 Nissan Xterra
#16 Saturn Ion
#17 Chrysler PT Cruiser
#18 Honda S2000
#19 Toyota Scion tC
And the final spot goes to … Mazda 3

They also mentioned the 350Z not because of any design flaws, but the death rate is double that of the average sports car.

I don’t find it surprising based on the fact that they have not been produced for 10 years.

All of the cars on the list are current models. Otherwise I’m sure the Model T would be #1

im not surprised european cars arnt on that list, especially german cars. nor am i surpirsed by the amount of american cars. i hate little cars like yaris and the smart car i hate that car the most, fuking waste of metal i feel like i can kick it over, probably cant though.

I agree with the Accent, Pt cruiser and cobalt being on this list they are truely fuckin garbage speaking from a driving these car daily point of view(i work at rental company I dont own trash).

why isn’t the smart car on that list…
if you crashed in one of those you’d probably die
then again, you probably wouldn’t go fast enough to crash =P
