2002 Mercedes E430 A/C issue after evac, recharge

My friend futzed around with the HVAC settings, first changing it from F to C. We changed it back to Fahrenheit.

Now, after the recharge, which is exactly what the factory called for, the clutch won’t even attempt to engage. The fuses and relays are fine. I know these things seem really bitchy and an overcharge will stop this thing from engaging, but I’m thinking that he fucked with something with one of the settings in the HVAC diag mode (or whatever you call it when you hold the “EV” button down).

Does anyone have alldata and can take a look at a settings list for me, maybe PDF some?

Thanks…

did you try jumping the clutch?? find the connection on the canister, bend a paper clip to fit the prongs and put inside while the cars running with the A/C on just to make sure it works
