This is a very cool idea, and i would love to see it come together. But where there are young people with imports adn loud sterios, the old folk with the hot rods are sure to not attend lol. Thatcher park is a good idea. I would say lay some ground rules down, maybe a $5 entry fee for the show, would pay for trophies if ya wanted to do that(and everyone could cast their votes for favorite car etc) and would pay for other expenses. Sometime in the spring would prolly be your best best, as thats when everyone is pumped their car is back out and wants to do shit. Let me know how i can help!

i’ll help out if you have a good plan and something serious. i’ve always told local people i will help out trying to get a show together. but the thing is, its going to be a local show. you cant just magically pull together a show like hot import nights in a year. nobody from the city is going to come to albany for a show, people from albany go there. thats how it works. you could probably get people from within a 2 hour radius of albany to come if you had enough planning, classes, awards, sponsors, events, etc. but it’s not gonna be an easy task and 5 to 6 months is not a long time for this. if you are seriously going to do this, shoot for late august, early september. there also seems to be a lack of shows at this time, as hin and a lot of the major shows do the east coast early on in the year. make sure you take into account all the major shows schedule. cause there are local people (like me), that will drive 4 hours for a major event before driving 20 minutes for a local show, local shows aren’t what they were, and unfortunatly thats why nobody goes, but thats why the shows suck too. ids a downward spiral. if you want something sucessful, think judgement day, think poor boys shows, think that guy that ripped everyone off in lake george a couple years ago at the forum. those were awesome local shows that brought in people from not just the capital district. figure out what they did to succed and copy it, besides the ripping people off part.

your wrong, old people go to shows with young import people as long as they aren’t going to be put in one class. and i love going to muscle car shows with my car and the old people like me and my car being there for the most part. yea they don’t like the ricers, but neither do i.

Have you ever talked to the older “muscle” guys at the lot and such, for the most part they hate imports. But anyways, no not all of them do, and i think we can all agree rice sucks
You need two years to plan a big show, getting insurance is very difficult also, I hope you have 10,000 lieing around.
Tricia, start with something small, like a combo of shift518, 518carscene and rspeed. You could probably have 50-100 cars just with that. You also wouldn’t need insurance if it was a local spot that wasn’t crazy populated. You would probably still have to contact the owners of the properties, etc.

This is exactly what I wanna do, something where the local forums meet up and have a fun day to hang out, maybe some bbq ? Im sure food cost can be low, just make burgers, hot dogs etc… the girls can do the baking for some yummy treats, everyone bring drinks and snacks if wanted, maybe throw together some kinda contest, who knows we have 5 months or so to figure it all out, so let the ideas flow !

yes but what the paid for in insurence they made up for with only paying $50 to close down the street
in albany all it takes to close a street for an event is a legal paper filled out and submitted to the local town/city (submitting fee’s are $50) and an ok from the local law enforcment and you can close down a street…m
we looked into it for the last show and it would of been easy if not for the huge insurence money it takes to cover that type of event…
So I asked Adam (@ Electronics warehouse ) if they would be interested in coming to the event if we can get it all planned and he said sure, and that they could do db readings for cars with systems and do a booth with some nice cars 
so thats one thing we got so far ;D
