2009 NHL Draft/FA thread

lol dont encourage him…

i did see the Scuderi update…ill give him that

My dad’s best friend is a high up in some position for some team, some where and he’s feeding this to my BB. :snky:

yeah…that’s it. that’s where i’m getting this stuff. :uhh:

ur dumb

Well it’s not anyone at the Sabres because they don’t use Blackberrys anymore.

Kovalev is no longer considering Montreal after the huge drama-fast earlier with them.

Pens offered 5 yr $10M for Scuderi and he went to LA for $3.4M per year for 4 years.

He already has a cup though, so now it can be about the money. LULZ.

The Kings are talking to Tanguay. In 2 years, they will be the best in the west. Maybe, 3.

lol, everyone else in the league goes from worst to first over a course of a few years. the sabres just stay in 10th in the conference

Pens.
Washington.
Rangers.
Kings.
Montreal.
LIGHTNING.
Chicago.
Sharks.
ANAHEIM.

I can’t think of a team (other than Detroit) who has been consecutively at the top.

I mean, I can remeber in NHL 98 purposely playing against these teams because they were so fucking bad and I wanted to pad Sakic, Forsberg and Hejduk’s stats. LOL.

Beck you seem to be the go to guy with this, any news on Biron?

No, just that Colorado is/was interested. He’s probably the best goaltender available, now that Nikolai and Dwayne have been picked up. He’s 31 and will probably draw a 5+ year contract, but not at the $5M/year I’m assuming he wants. I’m thinking if he was being more realistic ($3M-$3.5M) he’d be inked already and probably before Nikolai went.

I’m more interested in whom the Pens are going to have back on D now that Gill and Scuderi are leaving.

Saku Koivu apparently has about 15 teams interested in him.

LaRose is close to agreeing to stay in Carolina.

Next year Rick Nash is a UFA. I’d like to see him here. It will never happen though.

Kane, Toews, Backstrom are all RFA’s. I think Kane would come here purely out of principle. Plus if you look at some of the contracts we sign when we’re desperate, he could possibly end up with the largest contract in the league. (ie - Vanek, Pominville, Miller, Connolly)

Poose will want Semin here, but I don’t think Washington can sign Backstrom and keep Semin. Not with Ovechkin’s ~$9M hit.

I’m sorry but you make it sound like the sabres can actually afford a huge contract for someone like Kane.

Highly doubtful

LOL @ Kane leaving Chicago… he was supposed to represent Chicago’s “new face” when they drafted him and I bet they believe they found their golden baby.

You’re right. He won’t leave Chi-town. It was more of a shot at the sabres who feel that “everything will work itself out”. Plus you’re right Dan. The sabres are so tied up in 4 mediocre players for the next 6 years that we don’t stand a chance of getting a superstar or two for a LONG LONG time. Our 2.99 GAA/under .500 miller is our superstar. :uhh:

just rumors:

Koivu

"“Buffalo are in need of a veteran centre and Koivu is a consideration. Kennedy converted from the wall to centre in Portland this past season. They need a vet.”

LaRose officially signed back on with Carolina. 2 years - $1.5M in 09, $1.9 next year.
