10k? Come on Henry. There is a 5k on Feb 13th, just a suggestion!
 i just have to be careful not to pull my sciatic again…
damnit, scheduling conflict, cant run it this year.
San Diego anyone? Mike93?
running the full marathon- aiming for a sub 4 hour time… running a half in a couple weeks- if i can do it in under 9 minute miles i’ll be in good shape
Ran the Grand Island Half today, great experience, first big race as well. Learned alot and will be preparing myself for May 30th. Also learned that I should eat before a big race :fail:
Just caught this…yes, I’m doing San Diego full marathon. Training is going good so far…pulled 21 miles @ 2:55 last week with ease:) Looking to pick the pace up a bit in the next few weeks as my goal is sub 3:30.
I was planning on doing the Buffalo half as my training partner is doing the full…but I don’t think we’ll be able to run together with how they set the course up. So, I’m a bit up in the air about doing it now…
Sub 3:30 would be a great time man. Looks like your training is going well, great job!
BUMP, who else is running tomorrow?
Not me, but good luck guys!
So I ran the Half today. I posted my goal on here a few months ago as 2:00-2:10, and my goal coming into today was sub-2:00. I came VERY close, gun time of 2:05, net time approx 2:02. Since it was my first time, I was unfamiliar with the course. I enjoyed it more than the Grand Island Half; seeing as there was variety, and not the same scene for 12/13 miles.
Some things I am going to note for next year (full possibly?):
-Practice more incline running; there were 6 decent sized inclines, and a couple smaller ones. These are where I gained most of my ground, but it I didn’t anticipate them.
-Run more than 2 times per week. Although my time wasn’t terrible, I could have easily cut a few minutes off of my time with more consistent training. Time that I can devote to preparation is what will separate me from doing the Half/Full next year (TBD)
Congratulations to those of you that have completed both the Half and the Full Marathon. After running 2 this past month, I have an incredible amount of respect for those who can bang it out.
Those who want to run the Half some day, start training ASAP, seeing as they are offered at various times throughout the year. These are not events that you can just hop in on and expect to complete. I hope someday I can occasionally train with some of you!
