2010 Formula 1 discussion

I think it should be a fun year with the Spanish Italians vs the Brits vs the Germans!

Just need some US drivers and we got world war 3.

but yea, US drivers: :deadhorse2:

Its official, Schumacher to Mercedes

I think this is most likely true, but the article sure sounds like a lot of speculation to me. I don’t think I’d say it’s official yet.

ping.

F1 should be exciting with Michael back and driving for someone other than Ferrari.

I was already looking forward to next year. This just makes it that much better. Now we just have to hope that he hasn’t lost too much of his edge. 41 is pretty old to be driving in F1.

Mansell was 39 when he won his first championship and drove until he was 42.

Lauda drove up until he was almost 40 as well.

I’m not saying he’s too old. He’s still Michael Schumacher and I’m sure still amazingly talented, but 41 is pretty old by modern F1 standards and there should be little doubt that Michael is past hs prime. I think he’ll probably manage to win a race or two, but the magic of years past is likely long gone. He’ll bring a spark to the grid just because of who he is, but I don’t expect to see him ever challange for another title. Time will tell I guess.

I’ve been thinking this since I first heard he may be coming back. All I could think was “oh god its going to be like brett favre”

I may be the only one that was interested in the kers tech…I think bmw and honda are still planning on putting it in their road cars.

Provided the car is a nice evolution of the BGP001 I think Michael will still challenge for the championship.

I think he will. He might not be as much of a risk taker as some of the younger drivers but I think he will bring in that experience and of coarse the intimidation of his name.

I think everybody is correct… he will scare the younger drivers because of the holy-shit-michael-schumacher-is-on-my-ass factor but I don’t think there will be any title chasing

He better not let us down!

Let us down? He doesn’t represent me, and I don’t give two shits about USf1.

Ferrari’s 2010 and 2009 challenger’s compared.

Not a lot of huge changes, slight revision on the front wing, Red Bull style nose, smoothed out the bows around the exhaust exits (kinda looks like they were playing with some low pressure zones there on the '09 car).

Also, Coulthard is quoted as saying he thinks the Youngsters in F1 will be caught off guard by how ruthless Michael is on track.

New Williams caught testing. All the cars will be unveiled this week or on Monday at the first official test.

getting closer and I can’t wait.

I’m not going to bother with silly photos of Button and LH standing in front of it. When there are more studio pics released I’ll post them.

Certainly a radical shark fin and exhaust placement, that’s for sure.

The car looks LONG AS HELL as well, if you consider driver placement and sidepod relation to that are mandated, look at how much room there is between there and the rear wing compared to the Ferrari.

They’re desperate for the stability that they didn’t have last year. Huge billboard shark fin to help keep slides controllable and a super long wheelbase for stability as well. Seems a bit desperate to me, but it might work.
