Holy shit.
Exactly! I’m heading up to the resort I normally go to and gonna go do some back-country on Saturday. Should be epic, never been back-country before.
Hope this breaks the door open for the rest of the season. Stay safe out there.
RIP Sarah Burke
Went up to Bretton Woods in NH over the weekend, its nothing compared to out west but still some great skiing out on the east coast. Definitley more ice than I was expecting.
LOL Now I know where the name came from…
Preparing to rebuild the international economic system as World War II was still raging, 730 delegates from all 44 Allied nations gathered at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, United States, for the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference. The delegates deliberated upon and signed the Bretton Woods Agreements during the first three weeks of July 1944.
I got out Sat for a few hours; before a panic phone call from my wife because our living room was flooding from the windows leaking… can’t wait to move out of this place.
No Back-country this weekend, avalanche danger was extreme; and I didn’t feel like risking it. They closed the one canyon out here due to an avalanche that buried the road in 6’ of snow; anyone who was still up at 8pm, wasn’t let out till 10:30 the next morning. Conditions were f-ing amazing though; the resort I went to (Brighton), got 21" in 12 hours. It was the wet east-coast type snow though, so in the 4 hours of riding I did, I was DRENCHED. Was crazy driving up the canyon at 8:30 in the am, had to drop into 4-low for about the last mile; then was in 4-low for the first 5 miles down the canyon when I left around 12. Lots of people stopping, blocking the road, to put on chains.
EDIT:
Didn’t see this till this am… These guys got off lucky.
Oh, and one more thing; hearing 105mm Howitzer shells exploding at 9am from avalanche control is fucking awesome; especially when people are asking “What the hell was that?” after the explosion echos through the canyons.
heading down to HV now. anyone going?
Bretton Woods is pretty good but I lwould have gone a bit down the road to Attitash/Bear Peak, probably my favorite place to ride in NH.
For you people complaining about congestion of the slopes, you should be skiing with me next week. :D…
Yeah… I know… I am not a younger skier but I am still pretty gnar gnar.
I’m pretty sure i saw you at KB with jeans tucked into your rear entry line boots and a Bills jacket on…
Run-away straps and all man!
Whats everyones take on the company Flow? I’m looking at the snowboard FLow Verve.

I would like a nice flexible board and durable. Anyone have any back ground on these snowboards.
Picked up the new board. Cant wait to try it out this weekend.
Has anyone been out to HV lately? I plan on going Sunday for the last time of the season with my little brother…
Tuesday was a dream! The conditions were gorgeous…I think I hit like 1 or 2 ice patches the whole night. I was carving nice and hard and having a great time.
Remember, it didnt rain till today… so conditions wont be anything like they were a day or 2 ago.
But one of the best days of riding I’ve had in a long long time. Hardly any one showed up. (sorry I’m single) lol No need to care about Valentines.
Telluride was great last week with 2 feet of new snow while I was there. Great little ski town (1000 people) with what I call neo-hippies. Everyone was super cool and super nice. Like other ski towns I saw Audis (lots o Allroads), Land Rovers, and Cayennes. Also saw a few E30s, VW Things, microbus, old landcruisers, and a bunch of mountain bikes with super fat balloon tires.
Log Pile is an awesome tree skiing run. Black Iron bowl is nice with 2 feet of new snow too.
Edit: Ralph Lauren’s 10,000 acre ranch was nice too.
I am loving this snowboard right now. Best find that I have had in a long time. $190 after tax on a snowboard that is very playful (flexible) and has Hybrid camber (camber under foot, reverse in middle) this past weekend was a blast.
Yea, Saturday was a blast! I still can’t figure out why HV’s jumps suck so bad. The lip doesn’t have to be 20’ off of the ground. I’d appreciate a medium sized jump that doesnt have a super steep landing, those just arent fun for me.
I was in telluride from the 13th-17th. We got a foot in the first two days that made for a great first day and good conditions all week. It sure does get skied up fast though. Cool town and an impressive mountain. Silverton was fun too.
