2011-2012 Snowmobile Season

^ Ouch. Any way you can backtrack and get on County Rt 11?

I’m leaving Williamsville tomorrow around 10am and planned on taking 81 to 12, up through Alex Bay on toward the NY/Quebec border. Now I’m wondering if we’re going to have to change our plans.

Nope. Can’t get around anyone, other wise I’m about 5miles from Adam NY and could hop on 11 from there. Tractor trailer jacked knifed, they say traffic should move around 4pm.

What are you guys paying for insurance? Not signing up til I’m actually ready to use the thing but I called around today and cheapest I found was the Getzoni Agency using Nationwide, which is what my dad used to use on this sled.
50/100 liability, 25k property damage, 25/50 uninsured motorist, 10k personal injury for $75 a year. No collision/comp because my sled is 15 years old. Thought that sounded pretty solid.

I pay $78 basic. Don’t forget to join a club. Saves money on registration and helps out on club cost.

From earlier in this thread…

BODILY INJURY & PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY $31.00
BI $100,000 EACH PERSON - $300,000 EACH ACCIDENT
PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY - $50,000 EACH ACCIDENT $16.00
MANDATORY UNINSURED MOTORIST $3.00
$25,000 EACH PERSON - $50,000 EACH ACCIDENT
COMPREHENSIVE $250 DEDUCTIBLE $15.00
COLLISION $250 DEDUCTIBLE $47.00
ACCESSORY COVERAGE $3,000 INCL
Premium by Vehicle $112.00
Total Policy Premium $112.00

Could have saved like $30 if I dropped for coverage but for $30/year it seemed stupid to drop it. Progressive through my agent. Also have my boat policy with them.

Not bad. Since these are yearly coverages, anything to stop us from dropping it as of may and saving >75%? Granted it’s not a lot of money but seems stupid to pay year-round for something I’m only going to use for 3 months if I’m lucky…

I keep full coverage year round in case of theft or catastrophe. With my luck, it’s money well spent. Pickup up the the finished product from the shop tomorrow and heading to the Chautauqua Ridge on Sunday if shits open. Need some good deep cold for trail freeze. Got my Trojan in hand but not ready to tear into it yet.

The corn fields are rough. The top is froze but fuck your going to need a new skid after you cross it.

I only really need like a square foot section of material.

Their trails are open, the GF just confirmed it too because a bunch of them just rode by her house.

Edit: So are the tri county drift hoppers and folsom trailblazers

and some of HVR’s if you like mountain type riding.

Most Southern tier clubs seem to be open but promising less than desireable conditions. Gonna try for tomorrow. One 9 mile section in Chautauqua got closed because of fucksticks riding before trails were opened. Nice job shitweasels.

Ugh, had my whole sled refreshed and ready to roll at Hebeler’s, was supposed to pick it up this morning, and they took it for a test ride just to make sure, and I have rattling from the crankcase, which happens to be the complicated one with reverse. Back in the shop it goes :fu:
Might as well get it done before it explodes. Hopefully it’s something small…

The ZR?

Ski-Doo Grand Touring SE

I wouldn’t worry too much, seems like the conditions kind of suck.

Drove through Boston where a section crosses and there was a huge water hole just before the road. Yummm.

I drove down through Honeoye, Canadice and Springwater today to scout out some of their trails and just to take a drive.

There were a decent bit of sleds out and they definitely got a lot more snow then we did up in the suburbs. I know this because I stopped to take a piss on a backroad, stepped off a road which I thought was level only to fall into a ditch with waist high deep snow. Definitely a FUUUUUUUUU moment.

Didn’t get the sled out, but this was a “main” road I was driving on today…

Riding Chautauqua ridge area. Def got some snow. Better than expected conditions.
