I’m sure Marilla will find some reason to stay closed.
closed the office early…but i had a few things to finish so couldnt leave work yet. good amount of snow here 8-10" range of fresh stuff still some flurries. talked to my buddy in wheatfield he has about 10" there and still coming down good. of course i made plans for tonight a couple days ago and my buddy calls me today asking if i want to go riding…FML. so im gonna go out tomorrow morning for a bit
GTO made it up my unplowed driveway in Williamsville so no way it’s 10" here.
Rode Ashford to Franklinville last night. Trails were ehh lots of snirt, water holes, and the hills were ICY (only time I wish my track were studded) but it was fun to get out and I had a good time. I’m loving that it poured this morning and even more snow is gone. Oh and also love that the 8-10" southern tier was going to get is now only a few
^^shouldve came up and rode around here. Saw alot of people out, trails were groomed and pretty good around here.
Goin racin tomorrow
I rode Boston -> colden -> strykersville -> byrncliff (where I am now). I’m going to circle through marilla and stop at kodiak jacks, then head south back to colden and Boston.
Anyone out or going out, I would avoid the strykersville area. It’s getting very thin and wet around there especially.
LOL I raced got 4th my reaction my was horrible but still super fun. How did you do???
Put on 60 miles in Pendleton area today. Better conditions than expected considering the warm weather. Good time
ran a couple classes, got to the finals in the amateur/non turbo/nitrous king of the trail, took second. had fastest et but the guy got me on the tree .022 second. the payout i got covered my costs of racing for the day my buddy got 2nd in trail stock 700 too.
our sleds
and the sleds from some friends that we usually race against on the grass
Daddy always said…better to be fast than pretty.
Finally fired mine up. Put the chaincase oil container into the fill plug hole. Went to go work on something else and came back to find a puddle on the floor. Guess I forgot to put the drain plug bolt in. lol Anyone run synthetic ATF fluid in their chaincase?
1QIKZ, what does your sled idle at? I gotta just tune that in.
you can run atf in the chaincase and itll be fine. i usually just buy the little bottle of the cat stuff from hebelers because then i dont have to measure our check. just dump it in lol…
what kind of idle are you seeing?
Thats what I bought. lol But now I got the empty bottle so I can easily measure it out again.
High 1800 to low 1900s.
You were parked super close to me, I saw your runs but I left before the finals. Nice job wish I would have known the sleds before hand I def would have said hi.
And like I said just for fun I was actually the second fastest sled in my heat just had a shitty reaction time. And for having a brand new sled with 300 miles and not changing any of my suspension setup I was happy to just get out there.
Saturday afternoon we left out of Clarence at the bike path and looped north toward Medina, cut through Alabama swamps and looped back. Trails were pretty beat, lots of water, mud and moguls. Was getting better as we got further east but my riding partner wanted to call it a night so we cut our loop short and only did about 65 miles. Will post up the GPS data when I get it.
Not looking good for this week between yesterday and today, plus not much new snow in the forecast.
its all fun, i figured i wouldnt stand much chance in 2 of the classes i raced, but was pretty happy that i got to the finals and took second in the 3rd one. ive hardly been able to put any time in or tune the sled, found some things i need to tweak, but that first run of the day when i i was half a sled off those improvers and ran more mph then them on top…that made me really happy considering it was as i ride it on the trail and those sleds were built motors running race fuel, geared for the 500ft and such. i clicked off a 92.96mph in that race but had a 1.6 60 ft which is where i lost that one, they all had like 1.4 60fts lol…then of course later in the day in the outlaw class i lost because i left a pile of snow at the start with like a 2.0 60ft…just spinning lol…damn!!! haha.
just curious, were you leaving on yeller or on green? always leave on yeller, and if you still have slow rt’s you can push the sled in a little more, that 16" makes a big difference on rt. i barely set mine in as i was worried about bumping it, only had a best rt of .514, but our race sled we push it all the way in then pull back about an inch and i’ll be in the .41x’s
will you be at kissing bridge next weekend for the hill drags? i plan to be there for that one, get some more time in to play especially if the trails wont be ridable
edit, what class did you race?
Whoops… Guess I never registered my trailer this year.
The rivets holding the light for the plate rotted away last time we were out and the light was dangling. While I was re-riveting it this weekend I noticed the plate sticker was a “12”, figured I must have just forgot to put the new one on. After digging through some paperwork on lunch I realized I never renewed it. :ham:
Good thing the plate is so difficult to see under the trailer where it’s mounted. Paid my $19 just now and printed out the temporary registration paperwork.
What day is that? Can I run my wheeler? lol
17th, and probably not. after seeing how the forecast is looking now for the week, i may not even go. warmer then i expected later in the week.
I raced amatur 600 stock and I think I left on yellow but not sure LOL I was so nervous even though it was just for fun. And yeah your sled ran awesome.
I’m going to be at kb but not sure if I’m going to race yet or not, I will def keep an eye out for you. And Sunday is suppose to be 20 and snow, KB will keep the snow on the hills even with the warm up so you should be good to go
