im not making fun, thats what i like to call them. i want to put a fire kitty graphic on the hood of the race sled but all the free space has hebeler stickers there. d’oh.
as for insurance, im getting screwed. i tried that gowrin (sp?) agency that they had the ad on shred and ragan for, about how cheap they are. yeah cheap my ass.
i have a 2003 zr800, last year i paid $112 for the year for just liability. this year they tell me its $132 for the year for just liability. but said i should get a ~10 dollar discount for being a nyssa member since im in a club. no idea why the fuck its more expensive. i havent had a ticket on a snowmobile in ~10 years. (got one for not having the safety course when i was younger, had no idea i needed one at the time) and no points on my license.
im switching to my regular insurance company next year.
Can any snowmobilers tell me a good route to get from Hamburg to Holiday Valley. It is something that I have wanted to do for a while. Worst case I guess we could leave from Springville but it would be nice to leave from my house in the village.
Thanks
We used to leave from Eden VFW, go through Springville and Zoar Valley, and through Ashford. Don’t remember the trail numbers. Nice ride though. New website for trails available this year. www.jimapco.com. Shows all trails and numbers.
Yeah the only thing sucks is if you don’t have service it isn’t going to work to well. I know I wouldn’t have any service in a lot of areas because I have ATT.
It says it caches the maps so it works without signal. I’ve been playing with it this morning and I can view everything I’ve looked at even with my phone in airplane mode (disables all data and GPS). I did notice that I can’t zoom in unless I had zoomed in on an area when the antennas were enabled. I guess the trick is to make sure you look at the area you plan to ride while zoomed in so the zoomed in version gets cached before you hit the trails.
Between the app, gps, trails signs, and rd intersections you should be able to get a general idea of where you are. I also usually buy a trial map every year from the local clubs that I ride frequently.
I remember in middle school before I got my drivers Lic I rode to Red House Lake and back home to Holland Thanksgiving morning. Those days are long gone… This had to be 92 or 93? I used to average 4-6k miles local every year. That’s when gas was a buck a gallon… gah, I’m getting fuckin’ old.
Class of '99, corner of Center & Partridge, the old “Ranch” was where I grew up. Used to work at Colden Lakes, bar-back, dishes, bouncer/crowd control @ times. Good place to learn family values @ 14.
Found the twin to my sled FS on youtube. I may be bogged down in the soft stuff, but at least I’ll be doing it comfortably! Also hauls ass on open ice, had it well up into the triple digits.
Major reconstruction complete. Had to shorten a couple bushings due to powder coat being a little thicker than factory. Almost forgot how to put it back together but no extra parts. Steering needs tweeking once skis are on (should be sometime in May). Heat coated exhaust came out well. Float shocks should be here in a couple days from rebuilder. Charged me $ 95.00 including shipping. Just need a little frozen H2O. Graduated 89 there youngster, not from Holland though. Grew up at the top of Partridge near the xmas tree farm. Hated as a kid, would love to go back now. Let me know if anyone needs info. on the sources for the build.
I grew up in Holland, but I am far too young to know you I’m sure. You graduated two years after I was born haha My brother is engaged to one of Denny Martin daughters though, I’m, sure you know him.
