Re-assembly complete. Waiting on skis. Not sure I like the color combination up there but it seems to be growing on me. Yellow is a little off but I’m planning on some wear and dirt / grime. Hope everyone enjoyed the build. A little quicker than a car / truck. See you on the trails…when we get snow.
We are supposed to get socked with some Lake effect today. Nothing to crazy, but an inch an hour they are saying in the most persistent bands. My brother just loaded his Polaris up from my garage to take back to holland in hopes that it might snow soon. I have to admit, I do want it to snow already.
Spindles originally had a yellow / black decal. Looking for just the right replacement. Want to find the air force star / band insignia but has to be small enough. Blue’s a shade off but hard to tell.
Two stroke forever! I wanna be able to follow my exhaust smoke back to the trailer. You and your Yamaha and four stroke propaganda. Four strokes don’t even exist, they’re just a myth. Be happy we’re allowing a Yamaha to post here!
I haven’t been thrilled with a lot of the sled designs in recent years. Kinda scary the direction they seem to be going. Feels like the engines are getting cleaner and more efficient and the body styles are getting weirder and weirder.
Just to elaborate / reinforce on my earlier post about new sleds. Just stopped at my buddy’s to help him move his sled (06 Polaris Fusion) and before we even got to that he goes “hey, got something going on with my steering”. His steering has always sucked but now, with the front jacked up, it moans when turning and turning right is almost impossible. I figure we pull the pipe and intake to get to the steering components and no way. They’re only visible from the point where the arm comes out of the chassis and connects to the spindle. I think you’d have to pull the motor to even get to them. I remember when you popped the hood and everything was right there. I’d hate to have to pay a shop for these type of repairs. All for new engineering and ideas but this is ridiculous.
^ ya, I know what you mean. I noticed that when I had the plastics off my Apex yesterday. However, the steering components on the Nytros and Phazers are right there.
