2011 ATCO Modern Street HEMI Shootout

yeah…cracked it and knocked a 4" chunk of ring gear off. The chunk punctured the bell housing in 4 spots. Trans will be out tomorrow, case getting tigged and a new flexplate and trans blanket going in. Scary, that was an SFI plate. Going to a thicker ATI plate this time. I think a little over 700hp at the crank is bad for a lightweight flex plate;)

So which flexplate would you suggest:

or

the ATI…the one on the bottom is whats broken in my car right now. The ATI is twice as thick.

Okay, thanks!

Nick looks like your car hooked good here

Can hear it spin off the line. It wasnt like spinning out of control or blowing the tires off. Just wasnt hooking like i usually do. there was a lot of spin and chatter off the line and same on the 1/2 shift. I dont like slicks and i wont be using them again.

those are hoosier QTP’s which aren’t a full slick, they are a dot bias ply radial… i’m sure with an actual slick you’d 60ft great.

They arent QTP. They are a full slick.

they look like a qtp from here, not saying they arent…

Nick how is eric hooking 750whp on slicks and going 9s but you cant

Different set up with suspension etc? Cold track with no heat on it at all? I have no clue. Ask Nolan. He was 10 feet from me launching the car all day long. It would chatter and slip out of the hole on every pass. I cant really give you a straight answer Sean as i dont know technically WHY for sure. Not really sure what you’re looking for or want to hear from me.

Im just busting your balls cause I miss your musk. I don’t really want an answer

The slicks will give a little. They don’t hook as hard off the line as a drag radial but they are way more consistent on a track with less than stellar prep. They can be a little un nerving if you are not used to them.

my car is horrid on slicks lol , but ya cant deny they hook .

according to the wrinkle and front end lift, looks like its dead hooking hurrr

just sayn what i seein dogg no need to blast me!

Nick is most likely hearing the tire unwrapping. Like I said…they don’t hook as hard as radials but are more consistent.

As soon as it got itself loaded up like that itd spin a bit and chatter and i know for sure 1/2 shift it was breaking lose because it almost put me to the wall a couple times. It was my first time with a slick on and id prefer a drag radial for sure. The floating on the top of the track was enough for me to want to use the drag radials. They were consistant though.

Don’t be scared

Everyone was spinning on the 1-2 shift…wasn’t just you.

I like slicks better than drag radials myself, but if you have slicks in the back being a bias ply and radials in front it can get a little squirrely.
