focusinprogress. Come try it out on a week night. After 4pm-10pm it is something like $25 for a lift pass. Rentals are usually $25 as well, with the new building I’m not sure what they are doing for costs. I’m sure the site will say though.
If you are looking to learn, I’d be more than happy to give some help and I’m sure others on the forum as well.
If you enjoy it, I have a board and bindings package you could buy for $160 which is a good deal when it comes to prices.
thanks dude, I’ll PM you when the snow flies. If I dig it and your board is good for someone 5’-11" and huge fuckin feet I’ll def. have interest in that…
With a 14 foot, you’re going to either need risers (which IMO suck) or a Wide board. I rock a wide board with my 11/12 size boots.
And for cost, unless you’re riding all the time, or just a glutton for having to have the “good” stuff; most people can get away with a lot less than I spent. Not to mention I spent mine over a period of years, one piece at a time.
Completely wrong. Learn on a bunny hill so you arent one of those clogging up the hill sitting on your ass. You are to learn the basics on the bunny hill. (plowing on both heel and toe side to get down your balance, along with learning how to switch from one edge to the other) Learning on a bigger hill is not good due to people not knowing “how a hill falls” (the direction in which to face to keep yourself away from the woods) To many people go on the big hills and continue going towards the sides if the hills push them that way (Mardi Gras does this) They then get trapped against the woods, have to take the board off and got back to the middle… all to do it again.
Guessing you are talking about the line that goes up the hill with the little bar sticking off to the side to grab onto. Those suck! lol They dont have a small lift to take you partially up? HV does and it works out great.
I dunno I found it easier learning the basics on the bigger hills…I know what your saying about people clogging the hills learning basics, but in my eyes I remember being one of those people so I just have a little patients or move on to different less congested spots
really hoping this season is better than lost. I picked up a brand new setup last season and only got out on it a few times. hopefully Ill see some of you guys out
One of my brothers is a certified instructor (boarding)and is always willing to take people out… He’s a big dude and RIPS down the hill. He’s also pretty intimidating an loud so u will listen
Right now working on another trip to Killington, VT. Last year fell through because of the guy who gets the place we stay at, having a kid last winter. All good this year, so hopefully it happens. I paid to stay 2 miles away from the K1 lift by buying 2 cases of beer. lol How do you go wrong with that.
Also working on a trip to UT this year. Got a buddy out that way near Park city I believe it was. I’ll take a week long trip there, maybe get 4 days in of snowboarding. I know he said he’d take a week off to board as well and the fact I could crash at his place on the couch where him and his wife live would be perfect for saving money.
Got a pass through the school 155 for the whole season including bussing from campus… pretty good deal. Goes to HV KB and some other ones. Coming from the east (Gore, Mt snow, whiteface etc) I had low expectations but I must say HV in particular has done a good job of making the best of the lack of elevation
Hey, you know a board/bindings/boots/clothes/goggles/helmet are only good for the 5-10 times they get used in a single season in WNY!!! After that, they’re junk and have to be replaced with new stuff.
I just cant wait to get back on my $175 new board. Thank you Flow for making a very sweet flexible hybrid camber board. Also thanks for throwing a killer 60% off the same year board for me! lol I couldnt resist that one.
