You love that Flow stuff.
That is so funny because I drive by there everyday and I could open a second-hand store if I picked all of the gloves, goggles, hats, etc, etc, etc left on Rt240.
I hate the concept of the bindings. I’ve heard and witnessed bindings come unlatched while people are boarding.
The board on the other hand, cost… is an absolutely amazing board. I’ve had a bunch of guys try it that I teach with that ride higher end products and they as well loved the feel. You tell me how many snowboards you can find decent made same year as production model for $175 with Camber under foot technology/hybrid camber.
For the board, agreed; that’s a dirt cheap deck for the features. If I had to/were to replace my deck, it’d cost me ~$700!!
Not a chance. Thats not needed to be spent on a board. No board is worth $700 unless you are wanting to pay for a name. $500 would probably be the high needed to be paid for a board. And dont say, “I live in a different area so its needed” That is definitely not the case. You spend to much!
Can’t wait to noob it up this year. Going to be rusty considering I didn’t get out at all last season.
I like my Lib Tech boards, I ride a Dark Series; stiffer than most boards out there, lots of tech/features that aren’t in other boards; and rated as one of the best boards out there; was #1 ranked for All Mountain when I got mine.
And that’s nothing for a board… I know Lib has a $2k board out there. And Splitboards START at $700 and go up from there.
I usually do holiday in Sundays as well. That 150 for all season is a good deal
And the dark series is abosolutely worth it. I may buy one this year I use a skate banana now. Best board I have ever had so nice. Libtec and gnu have the best boards on the market right now and the dark series sits at the top.
Well… just cuz I’m an ass… First Major snow storm out here in UT. Calling for 6-18" at the resorts! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come this year; 300" just was not enough last year.
I’m hoping. I’m in the works right now for coming out to Utah in March for a week. I got a buddy I’m going to be staying with that lives 10 minutes from Snowbird. I’m going to probably ride there 2 or 3 days and either 1 or 2 at Brighton. Should be sweet since I havent been west yet.
Let me know when you’re going to be out here.
And 10 mins from Snowbird… so he’s right on the Fault Line out here, I know the neighborhood where he is. 10 Mins is also a “best case”… that canyon backs up and gets closed all the time due to avalanches.
I’ll make sure to pack my avalanche air bag. either way, thats a sweet place to be staying. How far are you from those resorts. And I’ll definitely hit you up and let you know.
I’m on the other side of the valley; far south west corner, over by the copper mine (do a google map satellite view; I live in Herriman, UT).
I haven’t driven to the resorts in winter time yet from my new place (moved to this house in March), but I’d say I’m a hour from Park City/Canyons, 45 mins from Solitude/Brighton, and 40 mins from Snowbird. These are estimates from when I’d be driving up there, AKA, first thing in the AM before traffic gets rough, and medium/low snow conditions on the road. It’s taken me well over an hour to just do the Solitude/Brighton 13 mile canyon before (Last January actually, snow rates were in the 6"-10"+/hr range up at Brighton; 4WD-Low FTW, didn’t need chains though but most everyone who wasn’t 4WD was chained up just to move).
No shit, I forgot about chains and how much they are used in the mountains. I only think of semis using them because of my line of work.
Anyways, got my letter in the mail. about 2 weeks before we do our manditory lift evac for Holiday valley. That will be when I know the weather is around the corner and so will opening day! Getting pretty damn excited.
Out here if you’re going through any of the canyons (Including I-80) there are times where either 4WD with snow tires or Chains are required (Chains have to be in the car but not on the vehicle; you can get a relatively serious fine if you don’t have them and just go).
Yeah, I know about the fine part. lol Had to deal with that with a few truckers already.
Just a heads up to everyone. Forum, Foursquare, specialblend… All closing shop and will no longer be companies. Sad day for the sport
I’m looking into some new ski’s for this season as my old Rossi’s are in need of replacement. Anyone have any advice on where to look online for ski equipment? I’ve been a downhill skier for years now but just recently starting playing around on some twin tips so I might consider something a bit swayed in that direction over the tradition downhill.
I plan on hitting up HV a few times this season but my “Home” mountain is Bristol… much smaller mountain for sure but usually well maintained and a good time.
Squaw Valley got 3 feet yesterday. Nice start!!!
Snowbird/Alta have gotten just shy of a foot as of this AM, and it’s continuing to snow today; supposed to get hit pretty hard today.
I actually have to brush off 3-4" off my truck/wife’s car this am!!!
