2012 NFL Season

Fireman Ed himself is irrelevant…the issue is the division between fans…which shouldn’t exist. I could understand division if say, Drew Stanton was still on the team. You know, an actual QB. But over Tebow? Tebow is a SCRUB who got lucky that he had a defense which kept him within 1 TD most games so he could somehow, get lucky and score the ball. People say he’s a winner…right. Do people realize that Sanchez has won quite a bit? Including 4 playoff road games (which NO ONE has ever done before)?

Most people will say, “Well, Sanchez had a good line and a good defense”. If you’re going to take credit away from Sanchez, you need to do the same for Tebow (and 99% of the other QB’s in the league). He didn’t win those games by himself. I can’t think of any QB since I started watching football (1998) that has won a game simply by himself with no run game, no sort of defense, etc.

I can’t stand Tebow. As a fellow Christian, I’m sure he’s an amazing guy. But as a football player, dude is trash.

I find myself supporting Sanchez more than I ever have. Playing in NY, he’s getting WAY too much blame for what’s going on there. He needs a GM that will give him the tools to win. Brady and other QB’s are playing with power tools…Sanchez is playing with wooden tools.

Then people will say, “Well, Sanchez in his 4th year, makes rookie mistakes” (INT’s). Oh word? So other QB’s don’t make mistakes? How about Brett Favre? HOF QB? Wasn’t he a INT machine? Sanchez just needs better options. The last two weeks, you can tell he’s more comfortable with his new receivers (some of which he didn’t start working with till week 2-3 due to injuries or them not being Jets yet) and he’s put up decent numbers the last two games against NE and STL.

People need to cut him some slack.

Eli has won 5 road playoff games, thanks. I think you meant no Jets qb has ever done it…

Sorry, clarification. At the time he won his fourth, no one in the modern era had done it. Now there are a few more names on that list, including Eli’s.

Yah i agree with most of what you said. I dont think Sanchez is very good at all. The problem before was Brian Schottenheimer, now you see it wasnt him, its the qb, they throw and have thrown for the last 4 years nothing but 3 yard slants and swing passes. They call these plays because it is all Sanchez is capable of. This team is a joke, starting with the coach, they run their mouths to no end and havent accomplished anything. No one reacts to Rex’s BS because they realize thats what it is. Tannebaum needs to go ASAP. How you financially and publicaly stand behind your Qb, and then bring in Tebow boggles my mind. Everyone has their opinions if Tebow but how do you bring him to a team in NY knowing the attention he will get. He knew what he was doing, he knew he didn’t have a good enough team to win so he wanted to sell some jerseys and make some headlines. Mission accomplished

althought Sanchez isnt the jets issue, he certainly isnt all that good either…

you pick and chose the stats you wanna mention. like the road playoff game wins…

well good qbs dont play ROAD play off games, they play HOME play off games.

Sanchez will never in 1000595609845098349043 years be discussed in the same book as a Brady, Brees, Rodgers, PEYTON Manning. he just isnt in that league. on his best day hes a Tony Romo, ELI Manning kind of QB. those are the QBS that have to have stacked teams to win.

Brady, Brees, Rodgers, PEYTON, have all won games because of THEIR play. shit peyton didnt have much to work with in INDY, the defense was trash, some sleeper WRS. wayne was at his best, and th TE was a beast but still.

Rodgers hasnt had a running game sence he entered the leauge so zero fucks giving that Sanchez doesnt have a running game - hes not good. at will only always be a get by QB.

Eli is a hands down top 10 QB no arguing that. wether is his top 5 is highly argueable and in my book it does not get top 5. hes 6 or 7 in the league IMO.

GENIOUS POST. + REP

I agree i dont know where Eli is on tht list, i honestly dont care as long as they keep winning. However i think you ad alot of people overrate Eli’s weapons. He has a stud 1st rounder in Nicks. A undrafted player in Cruz, 2 7th round picks in Bradshaw and Hixon. Manning is making all of them better players. Peyton had 2 hall of game Wrs, one of the best TEs in the league. The colts had a defense that was a twin of what the Giants defense is. Great pass rush, average LBs and average secondary. Freeney and Mathis were just as good as any pass rushers the Giants put out. I mean he’ll, Andrew luck has that team at 7-4. And no that is not a argument that i think Eli is better than Peyton, because indont think that. Like i said i like a team, the Giants. Not just 1 player. If rather have the team winning more Super Bowls than having a better Qb.
Sorry for spelling errors im new to IPhone lol

I never said Sanchez was elite.

This is my reaction to anyone who states or suggests so: :rofl

BUT…he’s not terrible. And he’s not the Jets biggest issue. Not even close. Jets biggest issue is lack of depth, front office ineptitude, and a stupid owner who has rose colored glasses on when it comes to the front office/coaching personnel decisions that have been made.

Rex isn’t a bad FOOTBALL coach, he’s just a crappy leader/PR head. He DOES need to shut up. But as a coach, meaning X’s and O’s…at least defensively, he’s pretty damn good. Maybe they need to demote him to DC and bring in another HC? Doubt he’d accept that move, but he’ll have PLENTY of work elsewhere in the league if the Jets let him go after this season.

those players make eli better - not the other way around.

either, they were clicking last night.

Well were not going to agree on that. His weapons are late round or undrafted players. Eli is a number one overall pick who has had many different receiving corps and still won. Peyton had 4 first round draft picks at his dispense whether it be Wayne, Harrison, Clark, James, Addai. Peyton is better. But these players Hixon, Cruz, Bradshaw Boss(before) are all 6th round or later. There is alot of players like that in the league but how many QBs in the league have 3 of their top 4 targets as undrafted or 6th or 7th round picks?

I wouldn’t look at what pick a player was as much as you do…if I was you…wasn’t Brady a late rounder? So who makes him good?

Some players, for whatever reason (maybe because football has so many players in general as opposed to basketball for example which is 15 guys), fall through the cracks.

I’m sure some of these guys like Cruz, Bradshaw, etc. would have done just fine without Eli.

just because Cruz was missed in draft doesnt mean anything.

alls it means is that Giants made better draft choices that year and got some sleeper pics.

it does not mean that elis weapons are over rated lol.

Agreed.

agreed.

I’m not sure if it is Eli making better players out of what he has, or maybe just the Giants offensive scheme in general. Look at the players that were “stars” for the Giants in the last several years. Jeremy Shockey, Steve Smith, Kevin Boss, Mario Manningham…I’m sure I am forgetting a couple. But for one reason or another, have done absolutely nothing for the teams where they ended up…

Could definitely be system too.

Who’s to say that if Brady when to another team he’d be AS successful as he is with Bellicheats system?

system and coaching has a lot to do with it. and not only head coach the entire staff.

Matt Cassel and Matt Flynn are more prime examples.

Sanchez gets benched, then back up throws teams only td and wins. Love it.

Sanchez is fucking terrible. Ilya you can’t even deny that. I think Rex Ryan just didn’t want to believe it until now.

You know what else I don’t get and is fucked up is the Alex Smith/Kaepernick situation. I think Alex Smith has every right to be pissed about losing the starting job. He got a concussion, so the backup does decent and Smith automatically loses the start job like that? It’s not like he could do anything about a concussion. I think that’s going to lead to players hiding concussions more now in fear of another situation like that.

Smith isn’t a great QB. He knew that he could lose the starting role long before his concussion and the concussion is not why he lost it. Smith was often subed out in the middle of drives. The 49ers have been using both on the field. Smith doesn’t have anything to cry about. When he’s called upon again he needs to just go play and win the spot back. Kaepernick eared the role.

This would never happen to Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Bree’s, etc. it happens to starters who’s backup is almost equally as good. Rodgers got a concussion his back up starts the next game and throws for 500+ yards and 6 tds… Rodgers started the next week because there was never any doubt who was te starter and who was better. Obviously Harbourgh(sp?) has doubt in who’s actually better and who deserves the role. Smith is not good when they are running the ball well, stop the run and Alex smith is trash… The giants proved it.

Sanchez - yup he’s terrible.
