alright, so I have a 93’ 240sx (KA/auto). and im considering swapping in a 1 piece drive-shaft & VLSD from a 180sx. is this possible for a quick swap or are their some serious modifications needed?
the length of the driveshaft might not work
it depends if you have ABS or not…
there are 4 different drive shaft lengths
Auto/ABS
Auto/non-ABS
Manual/ABS
Manual/non-ABS
ABS driveshafts are shorter to accomodate the ABS ring in the neck of the diff
also, i dont know if the automatic transmission’s tailshaft accepts a manual driveshaft
another thing is the 180sx VLSD most likely has 5-bolt output shafts, which require corresponding 5-bolt half-shafts (axles).
vlsd is quick swap …
i didnt know 180’s came with a 1 piece driveshaft … are u sure about that?
there is a difference between auto and 5 speed driveshafts … make sure u get the right one.
well this is what I have to work with
93’ 240sx shell with non abs rear end
93’ 240sx KA motor+ auto tranny and HICAS
93’ 180sx driveshaft + diff
so my idea was using the good stuff from my shit shell 240… motor, tranny, and maybe the rear end… havn’t decided if i want the hicas or not. and put all that in my 240sx shell with the 180sx diff.
