26mm vs. 30mm

Z32 26mm calipars vs. 30mm TT calipars?
is one easier then the other to install on an S13 or is it the same?
and does any one know of any reputable brake rebuilders in edmonton?

They will go on the car the same, but it is a different story for the wheels that fit on it afterwards; that’s the hard part is making sure wheels fit if no one has done it before.

I don’t think it is that difficult to rebuild a caliper, so pretty much anywhere that does it can.

do they work with stock e-brake?

only the z32 fronts the stock e-brake will work
with front and rear. no

Are you doing just the front? If you de the rear you will need the 300zx ebrake assemly.

ya i was planning to do the rear as well. is it worth it?

Well 26mm you can use stock s13 wheels(certain one specifically) but finding rotors can be a pain in the ass if you want to go Brembo (trust me I know). 30mm is iron and is less likely to warp than 26mm aluminum (hard to warp anyways but harder when contrasting the two)

30mm calipers come in Aluminum, that what my last set up was. And 30mm calipers come in iron. Warping Aluminum …Iron???What are you talking about Calipers dont warp, its your rotors that warp and they are all made of iron.

Anyways get the 30MM calipers and get some wheels or some spacers so the clear.

ya im thinkin ima go wit the 30mm ones… i figure the bigger the better. i guess if u look at it the positive way i get wider wheels

Alot of people don’t do it because of the work involved. I myself intend on taking the task on. Front brakes take 80-90% of your braking forces hence why people only do the fronts.

ya but i figure why not do them all… would the fron b easier with the 5 lug or woud the 5 lug cause some problems?

makes no difference, but if you don’t have 5 lug, then the rotors will need to be re-drilled for 4 lug

I am also attempting the 300zx rear calipers due to inadvertently buying them, plus they look cooler. I’m still undecided on which method to use, I’ll probably end up splicing sumthin.

Well then you might as well go big and get the Skyline GTR 32mm front brakes!!

i was reading a while back when the sport compact car magazine upgraded
their s13’s brakes.

in the end they said its not worth 5 lug and big rears as its going to be overkill
unless you will be tracking everyweekend.

for street use, make sure you get slotted and not cross drilled and fronts are good enuff…
