5 x 4.5 wheels on 5 x 114.3 S14

i just want to confirm that this will work…

in addition to this i would like to know what back-space i should get.

i cant comprehend the conversion of offset to back space…

what the deal?

i am getting 15 x 8 inch wheels in 5x4.5 with custom backspace that i have to specify before they are made… what should i get?

There ya go Bing, hope it helps you in unerstanding backspacing.

Bing FYI 114.3 millimeters = 4.5 inches

ok neither of you guys helped me out here…lol

i already know that the mustand 5 lug pattern fits the S14 so that isnt in question.

i also understand mm offsets…

what i dont really know is BACKSPACING

if i get a 15 x 8 with a 4" backspace is that a 0 offset? seeing as how it is 4" from either the back or front of the wheel.

so what i am asking is how to convert offset to backspace or at least what backspace to specify for a 15 x 8 wheel

Offset = distance of the mounting face from the center of the wheel
Backspace = distance from mounting face to back of wheel

Start in the middle. As offset increases, backspace also increases.

For example an 8 inch wheel with 0 offset will have 4" backspace
That 8 inch wheel with +10 offset will have 4" +10mm backspace
That 8 inch wheel with -10 offset would have 4" -10mm backspace

Backspace is a useful measurement when determining how wide of rim
and how low an offset on such rim can be used before hitting suspension
components.

According to that, a 15x8 +14.6mm is equivalent to a
15x6 +40mm :dunno:
