5spd swappers...Pilot bushing question

I got auto off and everything but when I tried to put the pilot bushing in it wouldn’t go it’s like it was 1 mm too thick…> am I missing something? is this usual?

u have to take the auto adapter bearing one out first before u can put in the pilot bushing.

^^^

x2. some auto’s have torque converter pilot bearing/bushing. some don’t. assuming the KA’s do, you must remove it to install the m/t pilot bushing.

Sorry to hack your thread,

  • does anybody know what is the alternative to Nismo pilot bushing. I’m looking for stronger than OEM one and don’t like to spend $100 for a “bolt”.

A pilot bushing is not a bolt…???

I can not see anyone making a “high performance” pilot bushing. A bushing is a bushing…and if it’s a bearing, well. A bearing is a bearing lol.

SKF makes all the pilot bearings, and bushings as well I do believe.

I have only ever seen a pilot bearing fail ONCE! In an integra…go figure

Ha ha, sorry I meant Nismo Clutch Pivot Ball

Just found this http://www.northwestnissans.com/board/showthread.php?t=40732
well worth checking out.

It’s not so hard and very well documented on the forums, if you have place and time go for it.
