The wrx blows but the sti with the bigger fenders is just a sex machine. If i ever had to downgrade i would go with a 2.5i before getting a wrx.

Check my pics of my wrx… a few subtle exterior changes really changes the whole look of the car.
Because the wrx is not an sti and will never live up to it so why would i bother? If im gonna downgrade im not going to get a pretend fast car. 
Wrx sucks stock. Modding it is a waste of money too.
During my novice days at autoX, novice GTI’s raped me all the time with my stock WRX.
i’m not trying to say that the wrx = sti… but that is just an ignorant thing to say.
I picked my wrx up brand new for $24K.
I saved nearly 12 grand (the new ones are around $36k)
If I really wanted to, I could dump 12 grand into my car (the amount I saved from the sti) and would RAPE a stock sti or even a mildly modded sti.
The wrx in stock form is still quicker than 90% of the cars on the road today and much cheaper.
and Jrod, what car isn’t a waste to mod? Wrx’s take VERY well to modding.

Once I starting modding it with suspension mods I did ok.
I agree completely… in a straight line but you would never be able to have the diffs and tranny as well as the turbo and mods for that amount of money. Throw in the brakes and all the labor you are in well over 12k. Aside from that you would never have the hot fenders.

I know this has already been covered, but seriously, if you don’t think having tires matched to the situation matters, just go away.
Regardless, a WRX in stock form has never been a good track car. Make a few changes, put the right tires (GASP) on it, and you have a different story.

Um, IIRC you can buy a front and rear limited slip. as well has swap in a sti tranny including dccd.
I’m pretty damn sure you could do that under 12 grand.
