7/25/11 - 4 AM NYC, 11 AM Buffalo, 2 PM Toronto, 8 PM Buffalo = My new Type R

Sincerely jealous. I’ve always had a soft spot for this car

Joe, best investment for winter - http://www.carwell.com/

I think this method is dated. Back when plating was cancer rich and metal was actually metallic sure.

Best method is the tar and oil, but is now illegal to do… do to environmental.reasons. Did this to my 89 maxima back at erie 1 boces. lol Did it the first year I had the car. Drove it through 4 years of winter and had no rust underneath the car

Agreed 110%

Congratulations on the pickup!! Clean, stock '97s are the rarest of the rare. How many miles are on her? What’s the badge # on the armrest?
Enjoy and keep her safe, GTA theft has eaten more than a few ITR’s over the years. Most alarm installs are virtually worthless.

Awesome pickup. Average mpg on the way back?

Did you end up paying an importer?

Looks awesome, I look forward to seeing this tonight

Vandelay Industries?

it makes me a little bit sad that you’re planning to drive this through the winter :frowning:

It makes me happy. Fucking flog that shit hard.

EDIT: You think he’ll still have it by the time snow flies?

Awwww hell yeaaa. Agree %100.

Post FWD drifting woo!

Honestly Aaron, if it hadn’t already been driven in the winter, I never would. But it has, so I can justify it.

Doespike, I know that '97’s are the rarest, that’s why I wanted it. It’s not enough for me to get a rare car, I wanted a rare version of a rare car…I want to believe that this will make it a protected investment…

Fry, I’d like to keep this car a long time, but seriously, life is changing fast for me, and we’ll see what happens with the car…nothing lasts forever, not even cold November rain…

To the rest, thanks for the comments.

.

that’s like saying you once tried coke, so why not be a full on crackhead.

If you want a garage decoration get a fancy clock or something. Drive cars.

When in Rome…

But seriously, it’s a nice car, not a show car…

wondering the same as well, i thought i heard bs about being 25 years or older or w/e.

nice pick up! drive the shit out of it

if it wasn’t special you would have just picked up and easier to find and cheaper modded GSR.

but I don’t want to shit on your thread… it’s a sweet car, enjoy.

I understand what you’re saying, and believe me, there were a lot of factors in this purchase. But I can’t undo the fact that this car is nearly 15 years old and was winter driven. So, what I’ll do is powerwash the undercarriage on my lift for a couple hours, and then undercoat the hell out of it. The thing is, I didn’t want a modified GS-R. I don’t really want anyone else’s modified stuff. But a bone stock Type R is a great car for me, and is more than enough for what I want it for, and I want to enjoy it. I always wanted one. If I wanted a gem, I would have paid the 16-18K that a stock '97 Type R with this mileage would go for…but I didn’t want to spend that, and then get another winter car.

more pics of underside and engine bay? Looks incredibly clean for what it is.
