88 CRX HF going k20...a3:(

my swap is about 6k total because everything is bought new and im going with kpro (which i still need to buy).
well i love it when parts come in on my day off, my karcepts shifter plate came in and its pretty darn thick and beefy then what i thought it would be. also my hydro conversion came in which was super fast shipping. both came in 2days after online purchased.
ill get pick of install later, that is if i get to it today.

The ef models have to worry about welding the mounts on, getting a after market front cross member/ or cutting the oem, bashing the rear cross member, either cut hole in hood or jdm front conversion to clear the engine, hydro clutch conversion and if your converting it the vss.

The k20a3 will fit under the stock US hood.

is the a3 shorter? i have a a2 now.
currently still waiting on the mounts.
tonight,ill be installing the shifter plate.
tomorrow,im buying a clutch master tomorrow as well as installing the hydro conversion plate, and ill be droping off the tranny to get the dc5 lsd installed.

Reading about that swap in the link, with his k20 swap, he was able to retain his USDM front end.

he is also using a fiber image sir style hood which is made for us front. if you look closly at the engine bay pics, the hood has no webbing in the middle. i was designed that way for the k.

Correct and although Fiber Images hoods are discontinued (I believe) what about VIS SiR style hoods. They are raised just like the SiR hood, fit the USDM fronts and have no webbing in them.

All this talk makes me want to get back into the honda game. Too bad FWD sucks.

On my day off, i stop by swerve and got a competition stage 4 clutch ordered and picked up a clutch master for a good deal. also dropped of the transmission to stmotorsport to get the lsd installed.

today, i got some work done after work. i installed my sonem hydro clutch conversion kit with a brand new cmc ( not honda but couldnt beat the price from swerve).

a few people had this problem with the rod being at an angle and unfortunately im one of them so i added washers to correct the angle.

then i slapped some flat black i had laying around. added another coat after this pics was taken.

a few parts came in so i took pics of them too. first is my brake line tuck parts from summit racing and the second pic is a few random clips and trims i needed to finish off my car when done.

ebay specials tow hook came in also, didnt want the tow guy to rip off my bumper like the did my del sol if anything was to happen to the car.

sometime this week ill install the shifter and hopefully by then my mounts come in to get things rolling.

and yes i know the K24 wont fit under the hood…i have a shity CF hood im going to cut like the J swaps use to be before hasports new mounts
