9/10 Test & Tune @ EB raceway

^^running a custom tune? Im not familiar with efi tuners on cars but if you can try adding fuel at the bottom rpm ranges that you’re launching at.

Ya it’s custom tuned that’s could prob be edited easily. I know the previous owner had narrower tires so it did a little more spinning on the launch.
I’m launching in almost full boost so if it doesn’t launch close to that rpm when it starts moving forward it loses boost and takes a while to regain

It’s a diff between 7.6 and 8.2 lol. Maybe a slightly higher launch rpm and more clutch slip will help. I don’t really want to touch the tune myself. If I can get to nyirp while STM Is there hopefully they could help

Ill see what I can do. Thanks for the help

thats awsome! i got my first .5000 at empire on september 1st at the 1/8 mile nationals

Things I would look at to start
2-step? What rpm? Are you building boost on it? If not add a bunch of timing into your pre boost cells.
Deff hookup with STM because they have the launch on these figured out.
What psi are your tires at?

I believe 2step is around 5500 Rpms. I’m not making full boost but I am still around 20psi. I think… Ill have to check later lol

My tires I left at the 40psi. I was racing on star specs last year and dropping psi didn’t help at all because of the sidewall stiffness. These are rt615s and I think they are a bit softer. Gary ran the same tires on his talon but he takes forever to text back so I couldn’t ask lol

I should have an adjustable suspension soon too

im not familiar with tuning boosted motors for if it is any different, but from everything i have seen, when a car/bike/sled/whatever is hooking up and has a motor bog at the line, it needs more fuel. the load on the motor is far greater launching on a track so it will need more fuel as compared to what the “tune” says on the street or on a dyno.

if you want to take it one step further take a look at your et from half track out and keep pulling fuel until the et stops coming down. if it slows down add some fuel back.

i have a recall tach as well as an afr gauge on my sled, i will check them once in a while (usually check afr about mid track) when making significant changes to make sure its acceptable but i will not use them to tune it spot on. every usual check for tune appears to be fine(which should be done because placement of afr o2 sensor can have a large impact on its readings). use the times on the et slips to help make the tune its best for going fast.

Put your tires at like 20 psi and start there. 5500 is plenty enough for your launch. Slip the clutch more and preload the drivetrain using your ebrake…That car makes enough power to run a 10.90 at the 1/4
