95 GOLF 1.8 - Hazards stuck on

I know some people are ambidextrous when it comes to car knowledge so I figured I would try here as well as VW Vortex.

Long story short, wiring up an amp (as per the usual amp-wiring routine) on a 95 Golf, took off the ground to attach the power wire safely, and when the ground goes back on, the hazards are stuck on. The actual button itself is in the OFF position.

… I’m lost. I had to take the ground off for the night. Any security/warning feature I’m not aware of with VW’s?

Yes, you have activated the dreaded vw factory alarm!! Put your key in the driver’s door lock on the outside, and turn it left, it will deactivate the alarm. The alarm always goes off when you put the negative back on.
