I do, just not as often as I used to. I’m not sure how much street use it’s going to see this year.

if i go to the blown euroz GTG, i want a ride.

[quote=“MPD47,post:215,topic:19571"”]

March 23rd I leave for Philly with the car for the BlownEuroz show. I suspect I’ll have it completely done minus the cage/floor/fuel system.

That could be tough if I dont have a fuel system.

i assumed you meant the fuel system for the turbo motAr. i didn’t think you’d trailer it to the show.

fine, i was going to offer up a ride in my rusted out integra as exchange for a ride in your porsche. your loss sucka.

Fuel system for the turbo motor is being done now, so I dont have to do it twice. I trailered it to the show last year, it’s just a trailer queen, I never drive it

Besides, to Philly and back with no shake down time is a lot to ask from a modded car with a fresh engine.

fair enough. you just never struck me as the trailer queen type. build a real car :mamoru: .

mike, i think that if you plan on doing any extended driving in the lower RPMs (read: highway driving) you will get some serious fuel warming > potential for detonation… especially as the fuel level runs low…

That’s just what i’ve gathered from reading…

If you are driving the vehicle for periods of time greater then 30 minute with less the 10 gallons of fuel in the tank, As the fuel level falls in your tank it is being recirculated at an increasing rate, allowing less time for fuel cool down, in these cases it is recommended to use a pump step down controller, we recommend Aeromotive p/n 16302.

Thanks for the info Newman, I’ll look into it. The car also has a 20 gallon fuel tank (oh, I lost 2 gallons of fuel capacity :() so the fuel cooling with under 10 gallons at low rpm may be a moot point.

Today’s update, got a TON done today, started working with suspension and went from there.

Got the passangers front suspension in after an extra coat of black.

Motor mounts and steering rack install, after cleaning up the steering shaft and greasing the u-joints.

That was hung up though by a snapped off bolt in the 3 piece crossmember where the steering rack bolts up. As I bought the piece “slightly” used it wasnt a huge deal, just about 40 minutes of drilling and using easy outs.

Tossed a wheel on just for fun

Started stripping the interior out again, removed the HVAC (which was full of leaves and what not, see the following photo) Started working on the wiring. I talked with my wiring guy (haha, my father) and he’s going to help me create a new harness for the car, it’s basically going to retain lights, wheel stalks, cooling fans, gauges, and that’s about it. So we’re removing the factory fuse box.

Nasty HVAC stuff, weighed in at 33lbs.

So yeah, that’s about it for today, I did do some underbody stripping in the rear of the car, but nothing to make note of. Probably going to attack the wiring again tomorrow.

very cool Mike, glad to see you ditch that disaster of a fuse panel from the factory. You have so little stock wiring, there’s really no point.

Wow 33 lbs that’s insane. But damn those rims are so hot.

Jealous.

Are you keeping the car street legal? I wasnt sure how far you were going with the race prep.

–mark

its going to be a race car is how he describes it but it will see some street duty:) should be insane with his new motor in 08

Tim described it well, but if you were to ask my that question in person I’d respond with.

“Ish”

very nice Mike!

wow, those wheels are going to look sexy.

you doing a total rewire? I am.

Nice sig dan, you just don’t like me because you can’t stand that i’m smarter than you.

Yep, I’ve got probably 30lbs of wiring I’m not using right now, so we’re going to rewire as weight is the enemy.

word. i’ll be in the same boat. what battery are you running?

Getting a lightweight from Mike @ Innovative.

Yeah, i’m torn. I have an optima just chilling in my basement, but IDK…

What cage are you running again?

DOM 4130? How many points?

I can understand that, I have no need for the extra power. I have to drive my ECU, gauges, and lights, that’s it, so I dont need the extra battery.

Not going with a full cage this year, just 8 point (main hoop, frame rails, connections to the base of where the back seats were, x brace from the hoop to the frame rails, and connections just over the rear shocks) in the rear this year. As I’m not getting the halo, a-pillar bars, crash bar, door bars, and connections through the firewall. Which is why I’m keeping steel doors for now. I cant remember the exact material, the guys at Procar know it, it meets SCCA/PCA specs though.
