 go post in the Toronto thread with a couple pics of the car. We’re also going to Indiana if you’re interested PT.
Dropped off that NA parts car at the scrap yard nice to have another spot in the driveway back
We’re thinking we can break 200bhp with this due to grabbing a cam and shooting up over 11:1 CR. I’d be happy if we hit the output of a stock 944 Turbo (220bhp), but I think that might be pushing it a bit
^ wow, you left alot. but i guess you took what you needed.
Most of what is left is NA specific (worthless) or can be bought new for cheap.
I am sad that we never got to FUCK it up. I only got one good sledge hit in.
Is fucked up from a golf club, you just cant see it below the ice.
Ok, finally decided on a transaxle. Going with the 968 6 Speed box (just purchased one), also got my guy at Porsche Motorsport Germany to find me a 3.4 Ring and Pinion (from the 968 Turbo S). He could only find ONE (and one 5th and one 6th gear from a 968 Turbo S, but I dont want those). So my final gearing will look like this if I only ran a 7100rpm redline (stock is 6450).
Just for this year, I’ll be running this gearing (3.78 R&P):
Still a hair tall for my tastes with an NA, but it’ll do fine.
Next year (3.4 R&P):
Velocity stacks should be here tomorrow, more on that when I have photos.
I’m eagerly awaiting that answer.
Velocity stacks are here, but seeing as how my DSLR is dead… (In all seriousness I’m really upset about this).
I’m not sure when I’ll be posting photos next.
Euro NA pistons w/conrods arrived from Sweden! (Also had a spare set of OEM Cup I wheels show up, got em for $75 + shipping from PA)
Worked on stripping the chassis some. I decided I’m going to strip the wheel wells and then get the underbody blasted (Speaking of which, Suzukiriderman, you have a PM incoming tonight).
This stuff = PITA.
LOL, I know your pain. Progress is looking good however.
I gotta say there a ton of bad-ass projects going on this winter. I also like the variety, swapped Porsches, BMWs eating Skyline mills, evil little Civics, vintage car restos, even MAX builds Summer will be fun.
Keep it up
mike, let me know what he wants to blast the underbody. i want in.
Sure thing Newman.
I’ve got two other BMW swap projects in progress here too, one is mine, one is my old engine but not my car.
What’s your timeframe on these? Good projects. Last year I refreshed and swapped a SHO motor with LXTASY, discovered I really love building up engines.
Not in the cards this year though, too much body and trans shit going on…
944 = March/April
e34 5 series = Late Feb/Early March
Project 3 engine is being built, goes under the knife in the spring
If all goes to plan.
Probably the e34. Depends on $$$$. Honestly the only stuff I need to buy for the 944 to have it running is flywheel, motor mounts, a few bits of clutch stuff, and bearings. Unfortunately, I also need seats and the cage work done for the car to be “done”, and I wont drive it daily anymore. Soooooo I’m trying to get the e34 done first.
Sorry for the cell phone photo, but progress:
Not done yet, but getting there. Lots of stuff in the works right now
