98 SS Build

I’ve never seen anyone shave the foglight holes. Looks good.

It’s going to look better with an intercooler

Choko is an innovator I only found 1 other person who has done it and that was posting on Ls1tech asking about it after the fact.

Saw it at Pat’s today, it looks great in person. Choko does damn good work.

X…

Slave cylinder was changed the one that came out was in 8 pieces.

I’m guessing the new intake threw the tune off a good bit along with the fact I over fueled the last tune expecting Choko to beat on it and getting ready to crank some timing at it I should be around 28-30ish.

Mid 11s AFR at WOT 22 degrees of timing

Car needs an alighment super bad its all over the road

Huge to Pat for all his help

The stock LS1 OS on the PCM runs in a hybrid mode between the MAF and MAP sensor.

I wanted to run the the car in SD only just using the MAP you can do this by having the computer fail the MAF automatically however the computer will use the secondary VE table which is half the size of the primary you and loses the ability to have high/low spark tables it reverts to the low.

My next issue I have a 1998 PCM which doesn’t offer all the nice features and OS variants(real time tuning, 2 bar, 3 bar, 1 bar sd) that 99+ PCMs have im not ready to repin the harness and swap out PCMs.

HP Tuners does offer a 2 Bar OS after doing some research and talking to other tuners you can change how the PCM interuperts the output of the MAP so I rescaled the MAP sensor from 2 Bar to the stock 1 bar.

This should give me much better control over fuelling the plan is to hit JDs dyno this weekend and do some work on the WOT tuning.

Still have a ton of mini projects to do before winter most of them relate to unfucking things

EVAP delete? Since my garage smells like gas I need to troubleshoot this
Window Motors
Finish wire clean up
Hard wire wideband
Re wire shift light
Change out interior panels - Thanks Ultradriver
Get new dash pad
Possible redesign intake setup based on IAT temps
Catch can for PCV system
Replace windshield
Replace window trim/seals

Possible try and find another body harness to rewire outside of the car

Heavy ass 17s
No light weight parts yet
stock kmember
Stock power seats
full carpet
almost full tank of gas
ABS is still in it

It was bouncing between 3080 and 3100

Goal for 2012 - 2800-2900 with me in it

Exhaust is way to loud im going to have to add another set of bullets or something.

You should make some metal reinforcement plates for the window motors. Don’t know what this car has for mileage but they’ve probably already been replaced once if not multiple times. You may already know this but eventually the holes for the motors in the fiberglass door get enlarged because of the weight and then you’re pretty much screwed if that happens. That’s why the windows sag in these cars.

I will look into that changing out the window motors is on my list of things to do soon

This is what I’m talking about essentially. The guy has a template you can download too.

God, that’s about a thousand pounds lighter than the new Camaro.

Man you should be close to 2900 with the new wheels and the abs delete.

Yea I just realized I had tools and spare parts in the trunk

I won’t be able to hit the 2600-2700lbs that some people do because I don’t trust running drag brakes on a street car.

Fuck.
Really trying to trim the fat on that pig.
That bumper looks real good.

I wanna get mine on some scales soon, just to see.

Have you had bad experiences with them? They stop just as good for normal driving, it’s just repeated heat/cooling cycles, like on a track day at the glen or an autox that would be hard on drag brakes. Especially when you take a thousand pounds out of the car. I am sure there are some random stories on the internet about people getting in accidents with drag brakes in their street cars, but In 7 years, I haven’t even come across one of those stories.

I know people locally who had have them

They fade like a mofo

Also I did a lot of online research lol

If I can get my car under 2700lbs maybe I will consider it we shall see…

Car won’t trap very high next year cam only but when I go turbo might be a whole different story don’t see why I would go faster and put less capable brakes on.

I wouldn’t put less capable front tires on either

touche

If they’re not touching the ground it doesn’t help either lol

Amen to that

Ordered two of these

Some turn downs and some clamps

Should make the car more enjoyable to drive on the street instead of being on cop look out constantly.

Might even be able to go WOT light to light

I have one of those mufflers too, going to make an MR2 exhaust with it.
