My A/C system was overhauled last year. Came out leak-free, charged, converted, with a few new parts. Worked well. Used it through the winter to make sure it was still alive - it was.
Now that summer is here and I actually wouldn’t mind having it - it’s dead. The A/C light comes on, the idle rises accordingly. But no cold air. At all. Sounds like the system comes on too…
My mechanic (and I) looked at it briefly, tried temp-charging it etc with no luck. It appears to be totally leak-free. What he saw as the problem was that for some reason or another the A/C pump was not coming on. This could cost relatively big bucks to diagnose further…
What should I look for in finding out why the A/C pump is not coming on? (ie. A ground maybe? Hit it with a hammer?! They suck just replace it?)
Thanks.
