Wow, I got quite the scare today. I looked under my car and noticed a nice puddle of motor oil. I just about shit myself. I popped the hood to see if it was anything obvious under there. Nope. So I jacked the bitch up and crawled underneath. That god motor oil leaks are so easy to detect, just follow the mess. lol.
So the problem was coming form the oil return line from the turbo to the block. The clamp holding the hose on the fitting on the block was a little too tight, and cut into the hose. So as you can see, the oil was leaking out of there.
So what I did, until the new manifold goes on, is grab another one of those clamps I had, loosened the old one, tephlon taped the hole, along with some electrical tape to secure. And then put the old clamp back on, then the new one on top of the hole, to seal that shit in.
This fix was just temporary until it all comes off again in a week or two.
Yeah, just at that point in time, I didn’t have any hose, and I didn’t have time to go and get some. So I just did this hack job. Should hold til it all comes off in a week or so.
I had something like that happen to me back in the winter. I got my timing checked and they slid the clamp for the rad hose around which dug into it and caused it to start leaking coolant. When I picked up the car they were like, we fixed the timing but you have coolant leaking. I was like WTF. They showed me where and wanted to put a whole new hose in. I was like you guys broke it and now you want to charge me. So I went home, took off the one end of the hose that had a hole, cut off the inch that was damaged and shoved it back on. Works great and you can’t even tell what happened.
