man i just recapped my car leaks lately in the span of 2 months…
power steering, required a new line 60 bucks…
oil filter housing cracked…150 bucks
oil pan leak 10 bucks… front crank seal leak…5 bucks
transmission leak…10 bucks
oil pan leaking again…5 bucks…
transmission shift linkage…(still reparing, apparenly nissan oem is the only ones with the part)
radiator crack leak… (just found out today…koyo time…160 bucks DO’H!)
my sway bar bushing just fell off…my bumper is held on by zipties…my trunk leaks a little…my gear grinds when i move in reverse…and my tires rub the wiring harness…
Yeah, my tranny is leaking from the shifter as well. Sucks big time, and leaves a nice puddle when I park it for a while. You should see the under belly of my car as well, not a nice sight. lol. I think its the gasket that I didn’t install. Ooops, my bad.
It’s leaking from the shifter? That’s wierd. If you need that O-ring I can send you one if I can find it, hell you can have the whole shifter for free if you like.
Just buy a new one kevie…overnight parts from Japan
I don’t have any leaks yet, it appeared as if the power steering pump leaked a little before i put the engine in, but after I cleaned and ran the car for 3 weeks, i hadn’t dripped a single drop.
My maxima on the other hand…worst power steerign leak EVAR. Drips onto exhaust and makes a lot of smelly smoke…ugh…pump is so hard to get to as well.
all the leaks i have had was from my
transmission linkage, then i put in a b&m
speedo sensor, silicone
valve cover, new gasket. but my valve stem seals are going i think
I also have to fix my rear engine seal leak/oilpan leak and replace the front seal on my tranny. Such a waste of time, pull the transmission and lift the engine out for a couple of $5 parts.
hehehe my silvia just slid past 100,000 km not a single drop comes out of the bottom yet! very small oil leak on my head gasket which i’ll remedy when i take er off to buff er up! actually every silvia i know (CA18) has the same oil leak, on the right hand side by the firewall…wonder if lorenzo’s is the same?
still…from the time i got er:
new battery (old one was PATHETIC) - $80
rad flush/oil change - $40
tires capable of getting me moving - $200
front brakes were fucked, (rotors, pads, calipers) - $200
vibration from driveshaft at 80km/h+ - $160 ($7 part…fucking labour)
ayayayy…whats next! when i start drifting she’s gonna fall apart on a whole new level i can see it now…
Had to replace my starter the other day…mine was burnt out…mechanic said it might be due to my Compustar remote starter??
And my HICAS warning light came on a few weeks ago when it dipped to -40 that one time and hasnt turned off ever since…so I dunno whats up…Nissan wanted $80 just to take a look at it …so I figure I’ll leave it…anyone have any help?
HICAS light- check your fuse then your P/S fluid level.
thats the type of thing i would only let a delership mechanic look at or someone who know alot about a HICAS system. Remember to fill your resevoir with only what it recomends. i think mines ATF.
