The ABS light is on in my car.
Needs to be out to pass a safety…
no codes are coming from the ABS computer.
In the fust block beside the battery there is an empty fuse location, only thing is it only has one of the posts for a fuse to plug into, instead of the two, and it also looks like it has never ever been used.
It’s a 1990 S13.
Is this the correct location for the ABS fuse?
If not where is the damn thing supposed to be???
Other suggestions?
Drop the steering column, pull the cluster and remove the bulb…
^^^ thats what i did
I’d rather fix it…
man my light comes on and off all the time and my brakes ahve never failed me, take the bulb out.
haaha, nice solution boys.
sorry no help.
Well the FSM isn’t too helpful with the location of the LED on the ABS computer.
Turns out it’s on the BACK of the computer, which requires removal of the computer to find the damn thing…
Anyway, I’m getting code 10, which is the “Actuator Solenoid Valve Relay”.
I will investigate further tonight! Would be nice if it’s just a blown relay!
^^^ yeah it’s not, sell it.
Well for anyone who cares… I fixed the problem.
Wasn’t a blown fuse or relay like I first suspected.
Turns out the ABS and the HORN (which also wasn’t working) were only getting 10V instead of the requried 12V to operate…
So I investigated this, and it the + wires that lead into the fuse box directly beside the battery were all corroded, one of them was barely hanging on.
Removed the fuse box, rewired and soldered these connections (4 wires) hooked it all back up, and BAM, everthing works now.
good to hear, trace the problem and solve it.
I’ve seen my harness, but haven’t noticed any malfunctions due to the corroded/broken wires,. :?
