yea sumtimes its hard with him especially lately cuz hes got 2 little ones…and he runs his business on his own which he just relocated for the 2nd time…im not even sure how often he has his brother in to help him out…i go to him cuz i trust wat he does…and the fact he knows the car so well, hes got two of his own…and i dont think my dad wud let me go to another mechanic

It’s pretty good. I’ve changed the driver side suspension so now it’s straight again. Good thing there wasn’t any frame damage, but here it is
This was when I took off most of the suspension, but I couldn’t get the control arm off because the bolt that was holding it in wouldn’t turn. It was bent from the accident.

I pick up the fender and the door from Syracuse NY tomorrow and then I take the car for paint.
I will have pictures of the car after I put the suspension on up soon, but I don’t yet have any wheels to go on it because the rim is warped. It spins and hits the caliper half way.
I should be getting a set of wheels on Monday.
If I’m lucky I’ll be driving the car again by the end of next week.

Actually, I’m deciding whether I do the Twin Turbo swap now while the car is out of commission or in the summer when it’s warm. I can probably take the car off the road for about a week. That would give me a chance to get everything together for it.
Anyway you look at it, I’m looking for people to help me out so I can get it done as quickly as possible. I think I really want to do it now.
I HATE driving this other Car though. I hate it so much that I try to get a ride with my co-worker to work every morning.
Well guys, here’s the progress.
I went down to New York on Sunday to get the door and the fender.
Got an AMAZING deal. Guy took $100CDN cash for a fender and door in next to perfect condition that’s already black. There are scratches and things so I will still be painting them.
That plus gas ($150CDN) and I’m looking at $250 total for everything excluding paint. I save on bodywork though as there are almost no dents in either part.
Cheapest here would’ve been $600. Flat black primer fender from Carquest for $250 + tax and $300 for a brown door with dings at a wrecker in Kitchener. Shipping or Gas would’ve worked out a little more.
So here’s the tire that was on the right rear of the car. Bald in the centre, little tread on the outsides. Do I see over inflation?
AND against what most peoples opinions are, I’ve actually gotten rims and tires. Got the tires from tiretrends.com in BC for $840 and the rims from Tiremag (tiremag.ca) in Woodbridge, Ontario for $1650.
So tell me what rims you think I got guys.

Well, I’m on the final stages before paint.
I took off the door and the fender at the same time to get it all in one shot.
I didn’t even get a chance to line it up before I saw that the door was amazing. There are some really minor dings and a massive stripe that runs along the belt of the door, but I think it’s in better condition than the original door.
I was trying to put on the fender to post this but I broke two bolts while pulling out the old one and I’ve been trying to tap it out since. No update on the fender yet but check out my rims.
The car is really really dirty and I can’t wait to clean it up properly. A friend just came over and told me that this is the dirtiest he’s ever seen my car. Then I looked at his car :R and told him that it was the cleanest I’ve ever seen his car (Looks like he just went offroading)

I bought a Japanese Front Clip, stripped it for the suspension, got a fender and a door from a guy in New York. Got rims and tires from tiremag.ca and tiretrends.com.

This is the car now right before paint. I dropped it off at the body shop a few hours ago and I get it back on Monday.
It felt really good to take it somewhere and not have to do any work. They just take it from here and there are no more concerns until Monday.
This means, I can probably go to the next meet guys.

kurtaceez, they’re 18" all around. 8.5" wide at the front (225mm tire), 9.5" on the rear (265mm tire…10.5").
+20 on the front and +35 on the rear. From the looks of it, the offsets would be the other way around but this was it and it fits right to the fender both front and back.
The last owner said he lowered the car but it didn’t look that way. When I pulled off the front suspension there were APEXi lowering springs. It didn’t look that way on the old rims but now I believe him. 1.5" drop on the front, 1" drop on the back. If can still go down more but I’ll wait until the summer for some coilovers
BMWWW, the front lip is factory on the Fairlady Z in Japan for the 1999 model. The car ran from 1990 to 1996 here, but it ran 1989 to 1999 in Japan and for the final year there they put a different style front bumper on all the Twin Turbo cars. I ordered that bumper from Nissan. It love the design.
I was planning on doing some wetsanding and putting my highspeed buffer to it in the Summer time, but I don’t have much experience and I don’t want to mess it up. I’ll give you a call for sure.
JDM-IMPORTS, what are your prices like? I need to put everything in there. Engine, transmission, rad, intercoolers, etc etc. This is my daily driver and don’t want to keep it out for too long. I was planning on taking it somewhere to get them to do all the heavy work like just physically move the engine and I would do everything else like the wiring, rad, everything for a weekend sometime in the summer.
I don’t have much time for it though. I was also planning on putting on a new timing belt, new performance clutch/lightweight flywheel, transferring my underdrive pulley onto the new engine and do a compression test on all the cylinders (Possibly rebuild). Soon as it hits a little warmth with drier weather I’ll probably be going for it.

One more thing guys. Does anyone know where I can get my rear fender rolled? My rear wheels rub when the car is going over a bump fast.
