Ricky was ripping it up, and I don’t know how you guys up top kept running so much.
I felt bad because I was DEAD and you guys were doing awesome.

I got a few highlights via text but someone now fill me in on how the match went in detail lol!
I should have scored about 5 goals.Ill get the them in the net next week.Everyone had really nice passes and through balls. We will only get better
I want to play again.
Now, haha.
Someone tell me about the game meow!
And team pickup this weekend? I know ill need it, you guys sound good, im sure ill be dragging the team down lol.
I’m down to meet up whenever for pickup! Yeah Ricky tore that shit up big time, I wish I was recording when he plowed that kid over, could have been a perfect GIF, that kid must have been 90 lbs. LOL
Some of the details are a bit hazy, but it went something like this:
Pre-Game
No-one knows anyone. Justin (Bastinado) walks around aimlessly looking for anyone wearing black and asking if they are on the NYSpeed team. He is turned down by all 4 people he asks, and depressingly sits next to AJ on the bench. ubengineering (Mike) arrives wearing a bright yellow shirt, asks Justin if he’s there for the NYSpeed team; the first two board members are grouped. They try to figure out where anyone else is by sitting on the bench, AJ is still right next to them. Mike texts Josh to see if he has any idea. Justin and Mike walk aimlessly in the sweat shop. Justin looks like he’s going to pass out since hes wearing a full sweat suit in the already oven temperature Epic center. They ask they front desk guy if there’s been anyone there to get a player’s pass yet. Front desk is of no help, they say they told Josh the game was on and what time, and that we should know our team. They venture back to the back field to look around again, and in that time, other NYSpeeder’s appear from behind the hockey rink: the goalie (Mike) and Brenton (Angry Hero?) were next to them the whole time, they just didn’t realize it. AJ stands up and starts talking to the goalie and Brenton, Mike and Justin look befuddled as to why the 5"2 kid didn’t speak a word when they were openly talking about the random forum team, but at this point no-one cares, as we are now 5 deep. Well then, at that time it looks like its going to be 4v6 as the game is about to commence… but WAIT! In come Pat/Paul/Pete (only 2 of those 3 names might be accurate, 2 tall blonde haired guys…) who seem to recognize AJ and Brenton and realize they are in the right place. 6v6 with no subs until the last piece arrives for the night: Ricky, who is seemingly recognized by everyone except Justin and Mike.
First Half
NYSpeed team is still doing introductions to each other and getting each others’ names wrong. Mike starts out on the bench. Team starts slow before getting out of what seems like neutral and in to gear. Opponents control the ball most of the first 5 mins.
While saying calling each other “yo” and “you” and “over there,” the NYSpeed team fails to complete anything remotely like a series of passes. Opponents capitalize on the disorganization and manage to score a goal. Mainly Justin’s fault for playing shitty defense. Time is like 6 mins in to the game. Score 0-1.
NYSpeed team decides the 16 year old brats need a lesson and start completing more than 2 passes consecutively, actively move down the field and applying pressure. Opponents fight back making long passes down the field targeting left defense. Nothing seems to connect.
AJ gets injured fighting in their zone. Pulls his hamstring, Mike subs in.
By pure luck Justin is able to complete a pass to Ricky, who works magic with everyone else on team, largely the Pat/Paul/Pete duo and applies pressure. One of the three make a long pass to Mike deep on the right wing forcing the opponents goalie to come out of net and intercept. He plays the ball up the middle and admires his work. Ricky hauls ass from the center of the field to fight for the ball; he steals is from the other team and blasts a wild shot from about a third of the field out. It would have gone way wide, but it deflected off the opponent’s ass he stole the ball from and in to the goal. The whole time, their goalie is still holding his dick out of the goal from his interception before. Game is tied 1-1 at about 14 mins into the first half.
The NYS team seems to be out of neutral now and starting to gain some speed. The teams battle back and fourth, with NYS getting the better of their opponents. Nothing really happens for 5 minutes, but ball play and control is closer to 50-50, with a slight advantage over the other team.
NYS continues to apply pressure with deep passes to Mike and Brenton. Eventually NYS forces a corner kick. Mike(?) puts a low pass into the crowd that’s bumbled around before rolling out in the center. One of the Paul/Pat/Pete duo make a charge up from the center D position and crush the ball into the low corner of the net. Score is 2-1 NYS at about 19 mins in to the first half.
Last 6 mins are an even battle, its apparent that fatigue will have an effect on the NYS team without subs.
Second Half
AJ returns, Mike starts out on the bench. With 3 mins in to the half, it is apparent that AJ will need to rest as much as possible, and not risk any more to his injury. He subs out for Mike at the first chance. Opponents are actively subbing 3 players every 5 mins. Half of their field team are able to rest.
The opponents make some deep passing plays. Justin misplays a pass at center allowing the opponent take the ball down the left wing, he chases after and forces a high cross. The opponents managed to head the ball in to tie the game. 2-2, about 6 mins in to the second half.
Opponents have control again, playing the deep ball down the left win. Fatigue is apparent here as the NYS team is slowing down. The opponents make a few passes between the center and the left wing, eventually opening up the opportunity for a shot. A low shot from the left wing finds the right goal post and bounces in. Opponents lead 3-2 about 11 mins in to the second half.
Game play is shifting, fatigue is really hurting the NYS team, most play takes place in the NYS half of the field with the opponents controlling the possession of the ball. A few deep passes down the right wing are given to Brenton, but he fails to put it away. Opponents continue to play hard, applying lots of pressure deep in to the NYS territory. The opponents get caught offsides, and NYS is given a free kick. Goalie takes it (was deep in the keeper box) and places it up the left wing to Mike. Mike and Justin bumble around with it before passing to Paul/Pat/Pete half of the duo that scored in the first half, Paul/Pat/Pete make a pass up the center to Ricky. Ricky does some fancy footwork, and hauls ass down the center of the field. One of the opposing 16 year olds runs with him/into him, and finds himself laid out. Ricky looks to have gained more speed and rips a shot past the goalie, tying the game 3-3 about 18 mins in to the second half.
The remainder of the game is mostly the opponents playing deep balls and taking shots on the net. Goalie Mike stops them all. It is very apparent the NYS team is a bunch of non runners. Fatigue is a huge factor. Opposing team has continuously subbed every 5 mins, remaining relatively fresh.
With about 1:20 remaining, Justin plays a deep ball to Brenton, giving him an open shot. The teams seem to freeze at that moment, waiting for the outcome. Brenton shoots the ball wide, given the opponents a goal kick. The opponents kick a deep ball with 4 of their players making deep runs. Justin misreads and misplays the ball, one of the opponents manages to get it and shoot it. Goalie Mike gets a hand on it, but can’t hold the ball. On the rebound the little kid blasts it in to the goal, opponents take the lead with 40 secs remaining in the game 4-3.

Down for pickup this weekend. I’m sure we can get enough to play at like delaware park.
If you guys do some pickup post it up on here. If im free ill come on down and kick around.
LMFuckingAO… but also… thank you… and also, great memory lol.
So what I take from this is you guys were in fact fatigued lmao… so conflicted because this game we had 8 but with full squad that’s 4 subs which gets a little much when everyone’s in form. Ill leave it up to you guys but it sounds like maybe we could use one more for these situations.
Regardless it sounds like we got something good going and will absolutely build on this. Sorry for the miscommunication this week lads, hopefully we’ll be good from now on.
Def an awesome recap of the game, but you forget to mention when I stated I needed to quit smoking while I dragged my balls on the field
Haha, I heard you say this and felt shitty about myself.
You were still running way more than me!
Justin, you left out the part:
“Pat pushed up and forgot he couldn’t run back. Left the defense out to dry.”
Other than that I’m amazed you got all of that.
What formation did you guys play?
Like a 3-1-2? 2-3-1? What worked out well and what didnt?
Where was my ducking phone call my number is posted several to,eps already 472-2488 Bryan mofucking GK!
Haha someone is posting from there iphone.
We kind of played a 2-1-3 or a 3-3. Honestly, it was mainly fatigue that killed us. My fat ass is is clearly not capable of making the runs time and time again without water. I remember one time my throat felt so dry I couldn’t talk. The epic center does get disgustingly hot in the summer, it has like 2 fans in the entire place and that’s it, so do make sure you bring a water bottle. That was the biggest issue for me (minus my whole lack of skills). I really think we were a better team once we started playing more but the fatigue killed us, or well me at least. A sub or 2 would have been perfect.
Ahhhhh 12 hours! I’m about to get to bed, wake up, then it’s time!!
