Advice need..CLAY BAR

Need lube for both:bigthumb:

got it now

nice

i was thinking about trying clay bar to my car…just dont know much about it.

i need to buff to get swirls tho…not tooo concerned with smoothness.

In before the :lockd:

Do one panel at a time. Use Quick Detailer. Spray liberally on the paint and just work the claybar back and forth in the direction that the wind would blow across the car when you’re driving.

This takes out dirt in the clear coat, some bird droppings, tar, etc. When you get a full claybar the wise thing to do is break it off and use smaller pieces in case you drop it, then you can get another piece. Once you get dirt in the clay bar throw it away because once you rub it on your car, well…

Then after you clay the whole car, wash it and then go over it with a buffer and a light polish or glaze. I use 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, apply by hand and remove with buffer and a wool pad.

You don’t need to buff or polish the car after you clay if you do it right.

You can use a quick detailer as a lubricant, but if you want to cut the time in half, wash your car in the shade, clean a panel with the sponge with soapy water, and clay while the soapy water is on the car… works as lubricant, and then just rinse and re-sponge.

As mentioned before - it will not remove swirls, and break the bar into 2-3 pieces, in case you drop it. (If you drop it, throw it away immediately. It’s now useless.)

To remove swirls… If you have a DA Polisher, look at the Poorboy’s SSR line. I use SSR2.5 and SSR1 in that order. www.poorboysworld.com

remember to wax the car after you clay, it will strip the wax right off

clay is an abrasive, it will leave marks. you should polish afterwards
