I have had the worse experience with Aero Car Parts. I took my car there on Aug 10 and they had my car for a day. I was told that they had a shuttle service (cool right). So the cab rides cost about $20 both ways. When I was off work I called Rick and he said come down It would be done in 30 min as I had an appointment to have my front windshield done @ 4:30pm. So after waiting longer than 30 min they said I could take my car @ 4:40pm. So now I am late for my appointment. Anyway I drop the car off at Brite View Glass to get the windshield done. They says hey who did your tint. I told him. He then starts to point out some big defects. So I call Rick back right away and ask about these. He tells me the glue is not set so it will look like that for a bit. He also says bring it back and we will take a look at it. Fine. So I head back on Monday and he looks at it. He tells me that most of it can be heat gunned out. I say look there is huge marks. Pics Below. So he agrees to redo it on Wednesday. So I agree.
SECOND TRY
Ok… Now I drop the car off @ 7:30am and Wednesday. I do not hear anything from them till I am in a cab on my way back to the shop. Rick calls and asks why I didn’t call him. Well I have 2 jobs and have to work @ 5:30pm, and now he sounds a little angry that he has to pay for another cab. So I show up and he says 1 ½ hrs and It will be good to go. So ok It will be good to go for 6. No problem. I will call in and tell them I will be late. So after waiting till 6:15 Rick comes out and tells me the car isn’t ready because the Back curled. Well ya… No I am not going to make my shift at all. I’m not rich and cannot afford to loose shifts left and right. He says he can drive my car out to best buy when it’s done and I say no. I don’t want anyone to drive my car. He also says he can leave it outside. So I ask him if he will be responsible if it broken into, and he says no. Well no I am looking at leaving outsider or picking it up tomorrow. Well I am heading out of town in the morning. He also says he will not pay for my cab to work that he will only pay for me to get home. It’s 6:30pm and I have to be there by 7 to actually get a 3hr shift. So fine what do I do. I told him just to leave it outside. I made it to work 1min after 7:00pm so I was ok. I get there at 11pm and get my car so I can’t see anything. About 2 days later I took a close look at the windows and was amazed that is was worse than the first time. I mean it was so bad. ANYONE who was at the Alberta Meet say how bad the first one was. So now I am really angry. I also notice that there are no screws in where the trim should be held. No screws insight. I also notice that a utility knife or something has cut a huge scratch in the window… I didn’t mention this to him because I was already angry when I showed him the second time. Also some of the trim wasn’t put back. Also the windows seem to not bee on the track. I can move the 2 front windows and the left rear windows back and forth ( shitty ). I also noticed that a screw driver was used to pry some of the door trim off leaving a huge mark. Anyone who knows me I take great car of my car. I feel so used. Pics
So after Rick comes out and looks at it he says most of this can be come out with a heat gun ( same freaking line ). He says he can have his guy look at it. But he is not there. SO he says I can bring it back. I tell him give me a second. So I think It over and think about. I walk back in and say can I get my money back and he replies with a no. He says bring It back and he will make it right. I said no, you have done this 2 times already and you can’t get it right. He then said he didn’t want to argue about it. I just walked out. So It is going to cost me $185 to get this shitty tint of my car and then $350 to get it redone at some one else. I am out $310 and Rick is being an ass. I just want my money back. Now you might think this is a 1 off problem. So I called my buddy Graeme (Nissan Versa) and ask If I can come by and take some pics of his versa to see what it looks like. ( Also done by Aero Car Parts ). OMG I could not believe what I found. His tint was pealing and it was bubbled so bad in some place. I cannon t believe they are still doing this. He was recommended thorough Erikson Nissan and I am amazed the dealer let this fly. Pics
Ok… Now I am really pissed. I will be sending Erikson Nissan a letter say I am very angry that they recommended this place to me. I am amazed they refer a shop that does this kind of work. I also amazed he didn’t seem to care that I was a N-E-C-C member when he is so well known in the Nissan Community. One thing that also makes me mad is when I said that they couldn’t do a good job he points to a BMW 5 Series and says he does hi end cars like that. Well sorry I didn’t know my base model Sentra doesn’t get the same treatment. It makes me so angry. Now I will never recommend them to anyone ever and I will not be doing any business with Erikson also since they always recommend him also. I was going to buy my next Nissan thought them (which is soon). I will also be emailing this to every paper, and the trouble shooter. Aero Car Parts is a RIP OFF!!! I hate bashing a company that is a forum sponsor but they treat me like I know nothing and they can just walk over me.

sorry to hear that man. i went there one time and ya they seem like hacks…they just kinda blew me off. i also wouldn’t recommend them at all talk to clear choice auto, they have done 3 of my cars and turn’d out great.
I am 4 for 4 with the little shop I use! He charged me $150 for 3 windows. It’s one of those hidden shops in a ghetto area but he has done some amazing work not only on my cars but people I have sent his way!
It’s called Sunshine Tint on Fort Road just south of the 7-11 at the intersection on 66st.
He even removed that super fine coating shit that was on my side windows as well included in the price!
I know how you feel when a place hacks your car! I had a car audio place do that to me before on one of my cars, just like yours there were scratches and pieces of the panels still off not even put in properly! I feel your pain!
People don’t seem to know how to do business these days. I don’t understand that they can’t figure out that when you start pissing people off, other people tend not to come their way.

The only reason I have it on here 2 and on 780 is most users from here aren’t on 780 and I know Rick doesn’t read the forums but he does read his sponsor one.

Funny they just ordered parts from me today and I wanted to yell at Rick (he called me) but I also wanted to take his money…I ended up being friendly and selling him stuff but man I wanted to bring this up. Oh well gotta be professional.
I don’t want to stop his business he does other good stuff. But his tint jobs suck. I just want my money back. Would of been nice if he knew that you knew who I was. He seems to think he can just walk over the little guy.
scratches your trim, scratches the window, cant even put on tint, and you got way over charged!!!

going to the news will hopefully help you get back your money. if they offer to do it for free, i wouldnt even take it.
when i went to get my front windows done, i went to Malcoms tinting. gave me a great deal and did an awesome job, did 4 windows in like 30 min… lifetime warranty too! the only thing you have to remember, which i didnt, was that not all tints are the same color. i already had tint on the back windows and when i got it done at Malcoms, his tint is a bit charcoal ish color, not the black. but im sure you wont have a problem with that since you are doing all the windows at once. also, some tints turn purple if you use an ammonia cleaner on them, malcom said his wont turn colors like the others so thats even a plus.
btw, when i went to get mine done, he didnt take off any trim pieces to do my little triangle rear windows, or my front windows. so i dunno.
That’s pretty brutal…the long and short of it should be the matter of principle and ethics, if the job isn’t done correctly, then return the money, it’s unfortunate how this incident could have been simply resolved but seems like things are being made even more complicated…
Just because one NECC member had a bad experience with TINT is not a reason to blow off Rick or the whole Aero business.
I’ve dealt with Rick for YEARS and never had a problem with him. Whenever there’s been issues he’s always made it right in the end.
I admit after seeing rageman’s posts, I won’t go to Aero for TINT!!, but there’s no way in hell I would take a broad brush stroke and boycott his whole business. That’s just bullshit IMO!
Like they always say, one bad customer can ruin a buisness.
I know lots of people that have got tint/3M done there and they have been really happy, but you never see them posting about how great they are.
But one bad customer (first time i have ever heard bad things) and now LOTS of people are going to stay away. But there will still be quite a few returning customers, including me.
I’m not telling anyone to stay away. But if you read the 780 Tuners post why is he still not refunding my money? I just want it back. It’s not like I am going to keep this shit on my car. Trust me I won’t or he can pay another tinting company to have it done.
first on the versa which i knew nothing of till this situation. if we did it i’d like to make it right (no invoice is required) contact myself
second at no time is there belitting of a sentra from a bmw. each day we do roughly 15 vehicles for assorted jobs one of the 5 tint we did that day happened to be a bmw 5series at the front door. i pointed at it becasue it was there not because it is better or more important to us. anyone that knows me knows i would take the sentra personally over bmw anyday…
third i’ll be calling ryan to attempt a resolution
