a few mr2 specific shops have told me the same thing, but for some reason it just doesn’t sit right in my stomach. i could just be mistaken, but i’d like to hear some comments. ( this is x-posted on mr2 boards )
the idea is that untill the stock fuel system reaches its limitations ( 275rwhp ) the AFM can handle any modifications you throw at it. This is what a few mechanics from different mr2 specific shops claim… however I just can’t see that as being true.
if i threw a stroked shortblock with a head that has OS valves, bigger cams and a port/polish with stock boltons for the time being, as long as it makes under 275rwhp the AFM shouldn’t be a problem. How is this possible? I can’t understand how the AFM would be able to regulate this
in your guys opinions/experience, do you think my concerns are justified? i understand that the professionals are “professionals” for a reason, and they would much prefer to sell me a $1500 ems if necessary, but they all state i can wait till bigger fuel / bigger turbo ( and they will sell me the ems then :smash2: )
