Air Bleeder Screw Snapped off!!

well I had just finished replacing my rear calipers, with ones I got from Avery,
and went to open the Air bleeder screw, when it snapped off,
the screw was not budging at all, so i sprayed WD-40 on it and still no movement, finally it started moving, but not the way I wanted it to, the Screw twisted and snapped off…
the other Air bleeder screw on the other side will not budge either, and so i decided not to try it out…

I was wondering if there is any way of getting these screws out without snapping them off, the one i snapped off theres still a 1/4" of the screw hanging out, so am I screwed or what??

Please someone, tell me im okay!

Take the caliper off
get all the fluid out of it
heat it up nice and red around the fitting without melting anything
try getting it out with vice grips (be gentle so you can try the next step)
use an extractor kit if the vice grips don’t work

Hope this helps.

BTW, a cheap extractor kit can be bought at CTC

Thanks a lot, i’ll give that a try tommorow…
hope it works, because im stuck driving a cavalier for now!!

Lol

thanks again…

Yeah heating is it probably your best bet.

Or extractor

Or drill it out

Or assault rifle.

But try heating it first…then work your way to the assault rifle.

Make sure you’re using a line wrench too

Bleeders are notorious on all cars for seizing up. If they give you any resistance get the mexican wrench out and heat it up for a while.

thanx a lot …im goin to bring it to my welding shop on the weekend!!!
and heat the poo out of it, use the vice grips and try my best to move it,
if that dont work then i’ll go on to the extractor…
then of course the assault rifle, if all fails …

thanks a lot to all who replied!!
