al right my bike or b16a1?help me dicide

i have a 1996 kaw.600r do i sell it and get b16a1full swap?i think that this is a better way to go more power. can anyone suggest aplace to buy and install engine and is 3 grand enough to do this swap?i would love to just have nice engine and a 14sec. car id be happy with dat.any one want to come see by bike email me @ chubbymanzach@yahoo.com thanks zack

i mean, i’d never trade my bike for a car, but i could see ppl trading a bike for a 11 or 12 second car… but not 14…

ya they do i have a mint ass bike its never been down but i thnk thid set up would be a rieliabe set up and have potential to up grade

I say sell the bike and use the cash for ur swap. A friend of mine did a ZC (DOHC 1.6L non-vtec)swap on his 91 CRX Si (No turbo yet). Seems to be working out rather well for him. U may want to consider that also. I think the ZC is good for about 130hp or so. Throw some cams on it. Maybe port the head and manifold a bit. Not sure what the price difference is between a typical ZC & B16A is.


If you do it get the B16a it is much much much better than a zc. Hell a stock 89-91 si D16a6 is better than the zc.

I agree.U wont be able to find that many performance part for zc so go with the B16.

D’s are a dime a dozen. Turbo a d16a6 and call it a day :stuck_out_tongue:

Sell both the bike and the car.

Use the money for downpayment on a new car that is already fast. That’ll be cheapest.

the b16a cost way more and the zc bolts rite in and its way cheaper i talked to some shop in bridville and it would only take 1 day and the guy there has 9 crxs and they all have zc dohc and there alll happy. here what i talked about yesterday, lighted flywheel, si/ex tranny, stage 2 clutch, header hi flow cat,and the zc dohc 1.6.then i wouldnt have to sell bike. and its only around 2 grand. iwas just gona do this until i have enough to do b16a2. thanks for feed back. if any one has zc swap please reply and tell me what u think. peace

dude if u get a zc u will kick urself in the balls cuz it will still be slow as balls.

If u cant afford a b16 atleast get an LS motor. Go B-series dude, or just slap a turbo on a single cam and replace them for $250 everytime they blow.

as long as you dont plan on racing anyone with the zc then you’ll be happy

ZC ZC ZC!!! yeah the B16 is more powerful. but like u said it’s more expensive as well. The stock D16 is good for what, 105hp or something. Upagrading to the ZC should show noticeable speed for ur CRX. Afterall it is a lite car, so it doesn’t have to have insane power to be quick. U could also throw together a cheap (but reliable) turbo kit for more power if u want it.

If your planning on getting a b16a2 in the future why waste an assload of money on a ZC swap…that would put a huge dent in your b16 fund man. Do it once and do it right…B16.

i got a bare b16 block for sale… cheap oil all drained out and person before i got it dorve it like that i have all the pistons to prove it … cylinder walls are not even scratched … its urs for $50 picked up

a ZC is great as a paper weight, and not a motor. 1.6L’s is just not enough in a honda. i’d get the swap, and put a gsr crank in the bottom end… that fucker would SCREAM in a crx. not only that, but your engine stamp would still say B16. those cranks are pretty cheap too.

or turbo a D series. that shit has to be fun.
