Albany Speed Shop / Krazy Kid Kustoms 2004 Jetta Track Car

Sunday Sunday Sundayyyyyy. 6’3", weighing in at 145lbs, you all know as boxersix, magician of metal, wizard of welding. He is sponcered by Bridgeport, runs on C16 24 hours a day 7 days a week and his blood was once replaced with pure gasoline… It’s AAAAAADDDDUUUUMMMMMM HHHHHH_HHHHH_HHHHHHHENSEY!!!11111one!!!1

Going rwd with it. the rear end will come out of a Gen1 Quattro, with vac locking dif.

the plan for the motor is to spin it 90deg and mount it with a 1/4" thick aluminum front plate and mid plate to some L brackets welded to the frame rails.

Want to put a T5 behind the motor and get s custom drive shaft done to mount to the Audi flange on the read diff.

Quicktime performance is working on a 1.8T to t5 bellhousing, release date is TBD.

My idea was to machine a plate that would mount to the motor, a plate that mounts to the t5 and use 1/4" steel plate to fill in the middle. Which would also qualify as a scatter shield I believe.

Mount the 1.8T 228MM dia flywheel to the crank, find a 228mm or so clutch disk with the t5 input shaft splines, put that between the 1.8T pressure plate, and run a hydro throughout bearing unit inside the housing. Get all the components sandwiched in place in there then jig the block and transmission in place and complete the bell housing.

what do you think?

Why not Vr6 then :lmao

With an auto trans you’ll mop up cars much easier

something like that

yeah but shifting is fun. :lol

So is winning.

1.8T’s never loose

Fixed

fixed fixed

:lol

Just turn the motor upside down and drive to the center of the earth

HOLY SHIT, IT’S LOSE!!! L-O-S-E

BUTTFUCKIN’ CHRIST FLAVORED APPLES!!!@#@!#?@!>#@!#@!$!>

T5s are not the best trans. Why not the T56? Not the best you could put behind it but better than a T5.

MENSASSES i didnt see that spelling mistake hahahahaha

A t65 is alot bigger in size, heavier, and from what i can tell its a 6 speed t5… so not really worth it imo.

the stock T5’s are holding decent power from v8’s. a gforce upgrade’d t5 people are putting 600ftq into them without issue.

what the shit fucking christ

bone stock T56’s out of the F-bodys have gone well past 700rwhp with no issues. Upgrade the input shaft to a viper input shaft and guys are going beyond 1000rwhp.

yeah but they are gigantic cases arnt they? also the only bellhousing produced is from the netherlands and is a dumpy t9 to 1.8T

A usa company is working with someone I am talking to right now and should have a T5 to 1.8T released or atleast built for us to prototype in less than a month.

if not, I build something!

they’re not that big compared to most transmissions. well worth the time to put one of those in IMO if you’re going to be doing this. It’d be a fire and forget gearbox in your case.

Scatter shield must be separate from the bell housing and be SFI approved.

I wouldn’t make the adaptor out of steel. You’ve be adding another 150lbs by the time you’re all said and done with that shit. Far to easy to be off .05" with that under welding heat without some rediculous welding jig, and end up side loading the crank or input shaft. Get some 6061 plate and I’ll machine one on the CNC. Done it before and works just fine.
