Alrite Apple Fanboys vs Windows (also fanboys?)

Facts > Drama
Just because you don’t understand a word LZ said/posted doesn’t mean what he says is not accurate. Also…something on this page is being flagged by my AV now. LOL

Like I said compare battery life and actual performance you will find if you actually pick a comparable HP model the prices will be similar.

You start to see a bigger variation in price when it comes to the 15 inch MBP models however in the Ultrabook which is where the Macbook Air falls prices are with in a couple hundred.

After researching processors the apple has the advantage if turbo boost ill fully used .1, so far seems pretty similar, the graphics on the windows pc would be stronger with their package.

This is a serious question: What makes it comparable? From what I’ve found, the prices are way different for a way stronger PC. Do you mean like weight and battery life? I can live without those. I honestly do not think once outside of an airplane in my life have I ever not had my power cord.

Yes if I want a retardedly slim PC like the apple the price goes up 400$, but is that all there is to it?

Go HP Laptop WITH A SSD and then compare the price you talking a couple hundred price difference right there and huge performance difference.

The convo we are having right now is you saying you found a Civic with a 8 speaker stereo so its basically the same car as a BMW that has a 8 speaker stereo system.

No matter what, if you buy a low-end model, you’re going to back here in 2 years asking for replacement advice. A high-end laptop (whatever brand you choose) should last 5 years, have better battery life, better screen (resolution and color) and more sturdy mouse/keyboard.

Take the fact that one product is Apple off the table you’re comparing two different laptops in different price ranges and classes.

Most people who buy laptops care about battery life
Most people who buy laptops care about weight
Most people who buy new computer want SSD performance

Apple doesn’t make lower end laptops they make ultrabooks and higher performance laptops.

The laptop you posted for 650 from HP is a lower end model which might be fine for what you do.

I vote apple, get more of your money back when it’s time to resell. I have a late 2014 iMac 27". Coming from a PC build my imac runs Diablo 3 110% better. Ssd does make a big impact also. I’m not really a laptop person but there are people who do crazy video/music editing on MacBook pros.

Ok I have a better understanding of what you’re saying now. Though this last HP laptop I had was 600$ 7 years ago and still runs fine today, but maybe 600$ then is like a grand now.

LOL, that $679 machine with the 15.6" screen has a 1366x768 resolution screen. A 13" Macbook pro is 1280x800 and a 13" Macbook Pro Retina is 2560x1600.

Again, Apples vs Oranges.

Engineer, eh?

I guess the display isn’t that important to me, a regular screen would work just fine. Now I’m coming across guys that buy the cheap stuff and upgrade the parts separately without voiding the warranty for a fraction of the cost.

Just noticed that, for 1900x1080 it’s an extra 30$, there again, why so much cheaper?

Are you just trying to troll or are you really a giant fucking idiot?

Just wanted to know before we waste more time here

You’re the one wasting time. I think I have the info that I need.

+1 to @LZ

It’s cheaper because it’s still a POS monitor.

Apple is a factory calibrated IPS display capable of displaying full spectrum sRGB. The HP is not even close to as capable.

And you’re comparing a 15" monitor to a 13" display. A 15" display should be doing WAY higher than 1080. In terms of screen real estate on screen, it’s tiny.

So again, if all you want is a cheap laptop, get whatever is on firesale. If you want something decent, see my link above to engadget which is a list of the 15 best laptops available now. 2 of them are macbooks.

You had all intentions of buying the cheapest laptop possible and you’re trying to justify it.

Cool so stop arguing and acting like you understand any of technical differences between model when you have zero grasp.

If you did you wouldn’t be comparing a laptop with a SSD to one with a standard hard drive.

This is the classic NYSpeed trick

I already decided to buy X but lets post a thread anyways asking what to do so I can argue and make myself feel better about my choice.

I concur

I’ve been here before. We all have.

These debates entertain me. I had a Core 2 Duo MacBook Air from 2010 that was flawless for 4 years. The only reason I updated to a Pro was the screen broke when I dropped my iPhone into it. I used that for Photoshop and software development with VMs. The SSD hard drives really give you the boost and usually the biggest bottleneck on a discount laptop.

If you are comparing both, you are missing major elements. Essentially you are comparing a imported car that is flashy and a reputation to last vs a Daewoo that yes, has a steering wheel, pedals, goes forwards and back and is legal to drive on the road but the core elements of them such as engine, reliability, and other internal hardware is much different.

The only thing with Apple is you need to buy in advance as you can’t stuff ram or harddrives into them usually.

I’m sure he purchased a comparable Acer for $400

NO! lol, I ran a beefed up windows PC vs. a MBP with 8 Gigs of Ram and the MBP was very smooth despite having less powerful hardware running the same demanding programs side by side, and I absolutely love garageband compared to FL Studio, so after some time with garageband I’ll most likely purchase Logic Pro X, so that’s what I went with. Originally I was going to do a 15" but went with the 13 and took the extra money and bought a nice sized monitor.
