Webbing around crank or lifter valley . . .
severe lack of unavailable-ness- block was disco in 1997
if you could find a good block-even- unbored-you could use steel main caps or girdle it
THought it was going into the cutty, or monte, change of plans?
whats the price?
man, that looks liek fun. what hp levels is it happening at? this also a problem in the non intercooled regals?
also, blocks shared from gn and the turbo t/a’s?
last ?, what is prefered method of manipulating the efi? i imagine that tuner pro has a definition file for the t-buick. basically hook up a prom setup and burn ur own stuff…
“man, that looks liek fun. what hp levels is it happening at? this also a problem in the non intercooled regals?”
Around 700 to 900 hp*…same block in 84 to 85 (non intercooled)
Keep in mind, alot of this happens from guys like me, 100K+ miles turning up the wick, alot of guys hitting 10’s,some 9’s on stock shortblocks. *I think alot of times it starts with the crank thrust getting sloppy…
“also, blocks shared from gn and the turbo t/a’s?”
Yep, called the 109 block

Not too much sense in burning it yourself, there are several experts that will give you a great chip (somewhat programable for timing and fuel enrichment with AC switch and a couple dash switch positions) they can even fine tune the chip with results from your data logger
This is my personal preference (also the $$$ goes up as you go down the list). . .
www.turbotweak.com for a well matched chip

http://www.fuelairspark.com/ The best IMHO :bigok:
IMHO, for Buick power…Stay Stock!
Step 1 - Learn the tuning and sensor adjustments…A stock Regal is capable of mid 12’s with some tuning a downpipe, fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator
Step 2 - After that start upgrading…one thing at a time and use what you learned in step one.
End result = A stock 109 block with a partial fill of hard block, girdle, forged internal balance crank, KI’s 4340 rods, JE’s, GN1 R heads, T70 Q trim, F.A.S.T. engine management run a nine and use your AC and cruise control on the ride home from the track!
Check out this guy going 9’s (regularly) on stock parts:
