 thought this was going ot be my response. THE exact thing happened recently. I decided to do the kid a favor and put his car back to stock and send hi on his way. Again had to argue about pricing. Not really getting what was deserved for the time put in. But took as a learning experience.
Is it me? or are retarded everyday?
Well, these are the types of responces i was hoping to heard, since internet sales my “markup” has gone from about 200% in the days of people running thru the doors to buy what we sell (We as a whole, not me) to now a days where average mark up is between 10% and 60%,.Doesnt do much to keep the lites on huh?? Ive heard of places spanking customers or prices changing in mili seconds, thats just not the case for me at least, In an attemp to avoid acusations of self promotion again Im going to stay a little brief.
Max and ermas hamburger 7.95/ McD’s .99 --Its just a burger right
Ford Ranger 24k/ Mazda whatever 19k-------Its still the same truck
Hienz Ketchup 1.19/ store brand .89---------i live in the burgh lol
P zero ?? 200 / Hankook 119 ----same ratings, whats so differant
I dont know, i just find myself being 28y/o and wanting to help the local Mexican food joint down the road instead of running to the always convienent and cheaper Taco Hell, its just my opinoin anyways.
Im new here and to the world of business owners, as any owner must go through. So i know in time I’ll make my mark, For now i was just stiring the pot and you guys/girls are makeing very informative and interesting points for me to learn from, so thank you, keep em coming
well, if ur marking up 200%, then u deserve to lose customers. there is something to be said for fair price, and something for price gouging.
you are comparing different products here, i was under the impression you were talking about people buying the exact same thing you sell, but on the interent… say a sony head unit at your store for $200 online for $100, if its the exact same thing, i would buy it off of the internet… these examples you left are completly different.
Tell me what you know about branding a business, and I’ll glorify these awful examples with a better response.
Just an example, Ive never made 200% like back then, those were the days of higher prices, i thought i made it clear with the following comment of 10-60, but not must have been to clear If you buy that sony off the internet for 100 dollars and it breaks next week where are you then?? Sony have very strict guidlines agianst internet sale by persons from companies other than those authorized for internet sale, And those people would never sell for half price.
The sony you buy for 100 bucks will not be covered by sony’s warranty and you’ll be SOL, Now you’ll be buying another radio for 100 bucks and be at the same 200 you would have spent in the 1st place.
…And had the radio broke after buying it from an Authorized dealer they would have covered the replacement, not you, possible even giving you a feebie loaner till the new one came in.
Its not that i/we are over chargeing i/we are coving expensis, and getting prepared for the chance that somthing MAY go wrong, giving us the oppertunity for exceptional customer service to be applied at that time.
Im not TELLING people not to buy from the internet, I am looking for peoples thoughts on what happened to me here and asking that you please think twice before hand.
If you buy from local than GREAT, its very respectable, but if youre buying from the internet then buyer beware thats all, happy bidding
As far as warranties, Internet is probably popular because you almost never collect on a warranty. Other than Craftsman tools and GM cars, I don’t think I’ve ever had anything break during the warranty period.
It’s the service end where you have to shine.
amen
I am a installer at best buy, people bitch about pricing all the time. this thread is full of long replys so i gave up
