Consumer Reports top picks of 2006 = all Japanese vehicals.
First time in history.
Consumer Reports top picks of 2006 = all Japanese vehicals.
First time in history.
bound to happen sooner or later.
<— not surprised at all.
To bad they got the fun to drive wrong, it is suppost to be spelled
M-I-T-S-U-B-I-S-H-I E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N
:word: evo is way more fun to drive IMO
^ Evo was probably a close second, I would imagine.
I would thank all of the US auto unions for this. the Unions are expensive and to be able to afford to keep contract with those unions, US automakers have to cut costs somewhere. It usually turns out to be something in the general quality of the vehicles.
Also note that this is a Consumer Reports result. Typically, it’s just people who actually write in…Just more people who bought Japanese wrote in saying how they are pleased with their vehicle. I wouldn’t doubt that there are just as many people who bought American cars that are pleased with their purchase, but there were probably more camplaints about American cars sent in…probably by cranky old (grand)mother fuckers who don’t believe in plastic.
Doughnuts in the STi are easier, maybe that’s what those tight wad consumer reports guys are considering fun :tif:
X…
honda FTW as usual this is no surprise to me
Meh some of their choices make sense, but then again some don’t. Like the Ridgeline for best truck?
Maybe reliability played a factor. 4G63 - boom
i have driven a couple of STis at work. i wouldn’t kick 'em out of bed for eating crackers.
Have you ever heard someone say, “I buy American cars because they are the best”?
Probably not because people usually say, “I buy American to support Americans”!
Ironically if you check out a Wal-Mart parking lot it is full of American cars.
Wal-Mart imports over $12 BILLION from China a year and sells that crap to these people.
Why would anyone want to support the UAW and basically fuck every other US manufacturer in the ass by buying Chinese crap from Wal-Mart?
Go to any domestic car drivers house I gaurantee it is full of shit made in China.
Rant off
Imports > *
Looks like Honduh wrote them the biggest check. I mean, come on. HONDA RIDGELINE IS THE BEST PICKUP??? What kind of homosexual panty waisted motherfuckers picked that?!?!?! It doesn’t even have a V8 option, can tow all of a whopping 5,000 pounds, and makes a whopping 245 ft-lbs!!! Even Dodge Dakotas and Toyota Tacomas make more torque than that. I’m sorry but that selection alone completely invalidates the entire list for me.
SUV over $30k, i want to know if that got picked because its a hybrid.
Pickup truck, thats just wrong
Fun to drive- was there a price range or something for this catagory?
Shredd and ragen were talking about this, shredd at one point said the cobalt was fun. At that time i was on my way to work passing by where their studio was. I was so tempted to call in and have them come out to the parking lot.
you are right, the honda should not have been the truck picked. the toyota should have been.
but they probably picked the honda because of the innovations. there is a lot of cool/functional shit/features in/on that truck.
agreed
-and-
Anyone:
How many of those cars listed are manufactured in the U.S.?
The Impreza is built in Japan, don’t know about the others.
im pretty sure the hondas are all built somewhere in north america.
^^Good points. I’m reading The World Is Flat right now and learning of some of the stuff the book talks about demonstrates how it is getting tough to say that any particular product is from one country. Can’t really say that Japanese cars won when a lot of them aren’t built in Japan. I wonder how many are designed in one country, parts built in another, assembled in another, with money held in another, and so on…
