Oh I know what you mean. Last year prior to winter they camped out under my old neighbors porch and had babies. Our houses stunk 24/7. Then I came home and heard ‘pop pop’. He took care of it with a .22. This new guy wouldnt do that.
I get the whole “you cant move a skunk from your neighborhood to another neighborhood” but I would bring it to some country forest and let it go. Looks like drowning it is the best/most legal option. Glad its not my skunk.

I am surprised to hear that the skunk wouldn’t spray if a human even got near it let alone carried it to a bucket of water. Good to know.
A high fps airgun with a hunting pellet will kill a skunk pretty easily.
Skunks can still spray if shot in the head.
They can spray even when drowned, but since it does aerosolise, the smell isn’t quite as bad. You’ll probably want to get rid of whatever you drowned them in after.
Even if they don’t spray they’ll slowly release the contents of their stink gland after death.
I have had that issue this summer of where one or two fuckers, go through my front flower bed, I find nice pile of skunk shit in it. My whole downstairs stinks when it happens.
