Amish Demoliton team.

This morning, 2 Amish men were hired to demolish a silo at my grandfather’s farm. I wasn’t there, but my camera on a tripod was.

Pretty interesting, it all comes crashing down at about 8 minutes.

Notice the protective gear…those may LOOK like average every day straw hats, but really, they are magical Hats of the Hammer. They provide +10 to dexterity and extra defense against modernization. Truth.

Nothing happens after it crashes down, just a bunch of nothingness i didn’t edit off.

Surprisingly, this was not the only silo they were bringing down today…they actually had several more lined up. I never knew silo demolition was such a booming trade.

Also, it’s ok for the amish to ride in a car, just not drive it. So, today, I learned something.

That amish dude is nuts standing there. Did the schrute family do it?

Interesting…

You guys have home owners insurance

I call BS. Physics makes it impossible for only two people to knock that down. I’m pretty sure I saw some explosives in there. Probably a government conspiracy.

neat video. speed it up and its much more interesting.

yea, completely nuts. haha

I’m not really sure which family it was, but I’m sure i could find out.
A couple years ago my grandfather had hired them to do tree removal on part of his land… they cut all the logs up into rough cut lumber boards, it was pretty cool. They used dino-horses to pull the trees out.

thats awsome prolly one of the most random videos on youtube

Is this even legal? How does liability work in case anything bad happens? OSHA?

i like that there is also no way of controlling where it will fall haha pretty cool to watch it come down though

If you knock out all of the supports on one side, it’s going to fall to that side…

I love how the one is walking back and forth, thinking about hitting it again then backing off, yes, no, yes… lol

Totally random btw

lol osha. i think it’s more of a “we’ll knock that shit down for cash, and only cash, and we know the risks involved”

but really, i have no idea about the legality of this matter. Regardless, it’s pretty cool

College degree ftw

yea… like chopping down a tree. only this tree was made of steel and brick. hah

I like how he started to walk back toward it just as it made the pop and started to come down.

If that were a union job it would have required 50 guys, 20 permits, 2 years of planning and would have cost 2 million dollars.

yea but as it collapses, will it still continue to fall in a straight line? i’d imagine there is some margin for movement there

edit like someone just mentioned the tree…every tree i’ve seen cut down always has a rope or something attatched to it so they can keep it away from a house/power lines etc. yes i know its going to fall to that side, but that can be pretty vague

Don’t forget the activist groups that end up blocking the demolition after 2 years and 2 million dollars because the silo is a historical landmark.

Yea, I’m pretty sure it was about $400 for this. Probably why business is going so well for them. $400 can go a long way when you refuse nearly all technology.

Thats pretty awesome!

The Amish didn’t know they were being taped did they?

Obviously the wind is also a factor which is why it fell when it did.
A small breeze on that huge surface has a ton of force.

LOL…jesus…so many of you are amazed at the most basic things.

As its been said…EXACTLY like chopping down a tree.

Some of you amaze me. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
