They should have switched to street tires and made a pass in the rain, nothing crazy, but just fast enough to say “it runs XX.xxx, in the rain.”
Do any drag strips allow wet runs? I would have been cool to see but I’m sure there is some rule against it.
I would imagine they don’t want people crashing
Would give jewbro with his GTO a run for his money.
Don’t these cars have factory launch control too that makes them awesome in the drag too?
that launch doesn’t even look good, and then I see the slip :headbang:
Bump: now 7.485 @ 192.97
I just want to know how it feels to be sucked into the seat. I remember driving a stock VR4 at 17 thinking I was driving the Millennium Falcon LOL
How long until someone breaks into the 6’s in a street able car?? Probably not too far into the future.
It’s been done but not with a GTR, a 3 pedal Nova in 2010. I could have sworn I saw a video of this thing cruising the strip in Vegas too but maybe it was a different car.
Its an intense feeling for sure and im not going nearly this fast.
Well that answers that, jesus christ.
i wouldnt call that a street car, or at the least its not comparable “street trim” when comparing to the gtr’s
They claim it’s street legal though. I’m guessing APD would find a few things to ticket on it. Heh.
There are a lot of fast street legal cars, but these have AC, full interior and otherwise have nothing lost from factory form. It’s been neat to watch the progression of these cars over the years
Sure Larson’s car is missing a bunch of creature comforts that the GTR has, but if you think the GTR would make it through Drag Week, you’re crazy. Drag Week is the ultimate test of a fast street car. You show up at a track and make your fastest pass, then pack up and drive your car to the next track which is 375-450 miles away. No trailer no support crew, just whatever you can carry along. Do this 5 days in a row. That GTR is set on kill. They cruise it here and there, but I seriously doubt they take it on any lengthy highway voyages.
This is impressive. I wonder if it gets enough miles driven to take the title for worlds fastest DD…
Not to mention the GTR trans wouldn’t hold up to drag week that is for sure. still cool cars.
I’m not up on all the rules, but I am pretty damn sure larsons truck could pull in any track on any weekend and lay down passes due to meeting all safety requirements. Could that gtr do the same? Or does it require track rentals and officials that are willing to look the other way?
