And this, Boys and Girls, is why you dont track a Viper with a stock oil pan...

I was reading about the new viper in C&D and it mentioned a new swiveling oil pickup. is that the thign that you “designed”

So this guy spent $30,000 on his engine but he didn’t want to “splurge” on an oil pan?
Am I reading this correctly?

well… to be fair, it was a lot cheaper the first time around at about 15K- without all of the damaged parts to start. But yes- thats basically the gist of it.

I didnt design it initially, i redesigned it. They did a half-ass hackjob of a design about 3 years ago, I redesigned it about 18 months ago. I posted the info & pictures on it back then on Viperclub (which the engineers frequent) and then suddenly the 2008 system has all of the same features as part of their new design that mine did.

Did they copy me? I dont know, but regardless it speaks volumes that I solved an OEM’s issues well before they did, on my first attempt… after they failed at it TWICE.

Block= ~150
Crank= ~100
Cam= ~15
Main Caps= ~20
Heads= ~40ea
Manifold= ~40
Timing Cover= ~25
Oil Pan= ~20
Rods/Pistons= ~30 total
Flywheel= ~50
Accessories= ~50 total
Fuel/coils/covers etc= ~25

Total: roughly 600 lbs. complete

There are going to be lots of parts for making furniture out of this engine. I can alredy see the crankshaft stool, the camshaft lamp, the rear main seal mural, and the piston clocks…

block is spoken for,by me,but everything else is avail im guessing.
