just came back from skating. (well, got done in time to watch the sabres game and just got home from that).
i havent skated that much this summer for some reason, last summer i skated a ton more. but i’m still down to go out whenever. i don’t consider myself to be too bad of a skateboarder
coldaccord i have lots of respect for all types of sports …okay but you come in here thinking that skateboarding is god. do i think skateboarding is cool? yes, but i liked rollerblading better and never thought that it was such a dumb sport. i just hate it how skateboarders such as yourself thinking that one sport is better then the other when in fact is all just about the same. go to canada and see that skateboarders, bladers, and bikers all get along, and are very respectful of each other. i never turned this into a hate thread about rollerblading. i just wanted to show you guys somthing i made with the clips i have gotten over the years.
ohh and when your talking about us being dicks i hope you go to a skate park now a days and see that everyone gets along. times have changed from a few years ago.
but thanks for showing the true side of skateboarding and how they are actually the dicks of the “extreme” sports.
mods lock it before this gets into a big hissy fit.its not worth it.
so i take it your basing your facts from the past. have you been to a skate park within the last year? if so you will see that everyone respects each other. in canada its differnt you can still notice the hostility in the states but in canada everyone is as nice as can be to rollerbladers and skateboarders and bikers. for example if a skateboard hits your foot the skateboarder comes up and aplogizes rather then in the states they dont say a thing, and so on if a rollerblader gets in the way of a line a skate boarder is doing, they aplogize. same with skateboarding if they get in the way of a line a rollerblader is doing they say sorry rather then in the states they flip out and say “why were in my way” i dont call that being respectable to the other sport. if i get in the way of a skateboarder i say sorry not much else you can do. i dont flip out on them if i was the one in the wrong.
i dont hate anysport never did never will i only said it was stupid because you seem to show no respect for the sport so i said what i did. i know plenty of skateboarders and bikers and they show support for rollerblading like they do their own. so why cant you?
i never wanted this thread to turn into a hate thread about rollerblading i just wanted to show you guys what else i do and not just all into cars.
i thought it was a bad ass vid. i fruit booted for awhile and had a lot of fun. i also skateboard, but i’m not good at it. i just like to ride around on them. i always have at least one in the car to cruise around on. throwin down 2+ tricks on one rail is sick, i don’t care what you think about wheels being attached to your feet. i wish i could find out where my old skates are. i’d go out just to mess around a little bit. it was never something i was as serious about as downhill mountain biking or snowboarding, but i always enjoyed both rollerblading and skateboarding.
oh and the reason why you dont find rollerbladers at skateboarding spots its because we have differnt tastes then 4-6 stairs and ledges below knee high.
Meh, I can’t hate on someone who can do some gnarly stuff.
It’s like in skiing, and the hate on skiboarding. Now, we hate them because most of them have NO STYLE whatsoever. But the ones that do, I’ll give a lot of respect to.
But as was said, BMX’rs clean up this thread. BMX guys are ridic and shit is so intense compared to both skatings.
go to deleware park by the whole building they have some nice kink rails and stuff that i heard alot of skiiers and snowboarders do in the winter and there are a few drop rails you guys can do downtown
I “aggressive skated” for Pipe Dreams for a while, when I was 12. Whoever posted “I skated for 3 weeks and learned all the tricks, etc.” I am laughing at you right now because of how full of shit you are  If you can so much as royal down a handrail and get it on video today, i’ll give you my car  Because I know that you can’t.
I’ll admit that skateboarding and freestyle bmx may have a steeper learning curve, but to be good at rollerblading takes just as much effort and practice (i’m not talking 360’s off some stairs or grinding ledges, I mean riding park and pipe). If you have no respect at all for it, strap on a pair of aggressive skates and try riding a 12 foot vert or jumping on a handrail. I garentee you’ll have alot more respect for it.
