I have a very annoying squeek that seems to be coming from my lower steering column. It does it a little bit at idle because of the engine vibration, but I just cant pinpoint it. I stuck my head down by the pedals but i just cant locate exactly where it is coming from.
Basically its a high pitched squeek and happens with the cars vibrations. If I go over rumble strips and little bumps its really bad. Once I get to highway speed the noise goes away unless I hit a major bump.
All the bolts in the steering column are tight. Where else should I look?
I had somthing exactly like this and it turned out that one of the bolts on the bottom of the fender was not there. You know the 2 bolts that bolt the fender to the rocker. Take a gander. Never know. I hate those annoying squeeks
Finally found it! It was the screw on my heater hose clamp rubbing against the lip on the firewall. I dont have to turn up my music to drain it out anymore!!
